Never buy ETFs again, what was I thinking? Way too boring, moves way too slow, I'm just too impatient for this crap. Need more capital to go long Google.

When I read something like that, I always think of the following quote from Kostolany:

"I can't tell you how to get rich quick, but I can tell you how to get poor quick: by trying to get rich quick."

@wormii I immediately thought of Warren Buffett's answer to Jeff Bezos' question "Why doesn't everyone just copy your investment style?": "nobody wants to get rich slowly"

@wormii Do you know how not to get rich? By not daring to do anything, by not taking any risks and by dwelling on quotes from people who have had shit luck in their lives.

@leveragegrinding You only get rich if you get stock tips on Getquin! 🤡

@wormii if you want to get rich quick, be sure to ask @Fresh, he regularly buys his groceries in high-end luxury stores :)

@leveragegrinding Are you trying to tell me that Kostolany was just lucky in life?

And it's not about not taking risks. If you look at my portfolio, you'll see that I have an affinity for risk. The saying refers to his impatience, not his willingness to take risks.

@wormii 37% Tesla, you can just buy levers like him
Imagen de perfil
@leveragegrinding I bought Tesla 4 years ago, which is why the position is so large. You can see that from the return of over 1500%. In the overall view of all portfolios, it is lower because I bought some more recently. This is a long-term investment. I will hold it for years to come.

Rather drill for oil or gas😂🙈
@wormii All well and good, but if anyone knows how to get rich quick, it's dronix. For some unknown reason, he just doesn't do it. Nevertheless, his tips seem to work more than 50% of the time

Someone like that has no business on the stock market - as hard as it sounds

@boersen_student Well, I can simply make more profits with good individual stocks, so why should I sink my capital into an ETF that moves so slowly?

@dronix111 individual values that move more can also move down very quickly ;) the rest can be found in the other horrified comments

@boersen_student Or very quickly to the top. That is the goal.

Oh man, beginners should PLEASE not take this as an example. Nobody gets rich overnight 👍 The great thing is that the ETF will really take off in terms of profits after 10 years. But well, those who can't be patient will lose a lot in life

@InvestorM Or win, because I can invest my capital better than in such a lame ETF
Imagen de perfil
@dronix111 Remember one thing, nobody can beat the market in the long run. Or are you a manager who thinks you are the best?
1
Imagen de perfil
@InvestorM You can't beat an All World ETf in the long run

@dronix111 never 😂.

@InvestorM Only people who don't even try claim that. There are quite a few people who can. Why do you have individual stocks in your portfolio if you can't beat the All World anyway? You're contradicting yourself lmao
Imagen de perfil
@dronix111 Nop, still have a DIV strategy. :)

@InvestorM even worse

@InvestorM the funny thing is that he will look into his portfolio at some point and get etfs after all 😭

9 out of 10 investors do better with an ETF. Good luck with that 🥴

Just go for a core-satellite strategy. E.g. 400 in ETFs as core and 200 in individual stocks (numbers to be replaced according to wealth)

@getquin Dronix is allowed to say that, he can TA unlike you 😘 or do we want to compare our performance again? 🦍
Imagen de perfil
@getquin you can take it out now, it won't grow anymore
Imagen de perfil
I agree with you exactly. That's why I have my ETFs in an insurance wrapper so that I never look at them and only have individual shares in my portfolios.
Imagen de perfil
You can see for yourself how well your shares are doing 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Marlon53 That's right, I've outperformed all indices with my individual stocks since I started, and with a total return of +36% in 2021, I've actually done quite well. So things are actually going pretty well, thank you :)

If your point is that many positions are currently red, then I would recommend you take a look at the indices and tell me what is NOT red. And then maybe think about the fact that some of my investments have much shorter time horizons. Of course, that's why everything is red, because these are almost all things that I've bought recently lmao. The indices have only gone down. The positions I had before obviously went so well that it was enough to outperform and I'm convinced that I'll be able to do that again this year. Incidentally, the Nasdaq is at almost -14% YTD, so I'm actually still outperforming my benchmark index at the moment :)

This is a really cool ETF... I have now bought it as a savings plan. I think it has good potential for a holding period of 10-15 years. What do you think?
