Hold, hedge or sell?

Hello everyone. I currently have $LUMN (+2,26 %) currently with just under 100% in the portfolio. The entry point is EUR 3.80. Now I'm a bit worried about the Q3 figures, which are due on the 30th. At least there was good news with the $PLTR (+0,42 %) deal. This should also explain the latest price surge. Would you simply place a stop (if so, where?), hold or even sell completely?

I look forward to constructive suggestions. :)

So you bought a share without an exit plan?
Uiuiui! 😳
For that reason alone, I would strongly consider selling everything immediately - and learning the basics of trading first... 🤷

@Epi So if you already know or know the exit for each of your investments today, then hats off - or then trade exclusively in the short and medium term. Otherwise, there are simply many stocks that will continue to be held unless one of the fundamentals changes.

I only need an exit plan if I have doubts about the investment right from the start... But then I tend to leave it alone...

@Epi super constructive suggestion from you, thank you... I had actually planned my exit at +75%, but it just ran over it too quickly and now I just wanted to ask for the community's advice.

@Konsti2201 Well, if you wanted to get out at +75% and you had good reasons for doing so, then they apply all the more at +100%, don't they? 🤔

@GeldGenie he is talking about the basics of trading. As a rule, you only enter a trade once you have defined a stop loss and take profit. Epi's long-term strategy should be well known.
I'll just ignore the statement about the exit plan for now 🫠

@GeldGenie Knowing the exit conditions simply protects against emotional decisions. This has nothing to do with short-term trading or doubts about the investment, but rather with the basics of behavioral finance. Even a fundi should determine his exit conditions before buying. You do that yourself, quote: "unless one of the fundamentals changes".

@DerAzubi That's right! But what's the problem with the exit plan?

@Epi "...if I doubt the investment right from the start",
I didn't want to go into this in more detail now, as such an investment is out of the question for me.

@Yoshika or you leave emotions and feelings out of the trade and act on what you see.

If you believe in the UG in the long term, quarterly figures are, for the most part, jolts. But the question is, what else do you think Lumen is capable of? Was it a rebound play?

Why only gaz or not at all? Possibly just some eggs out of the basket for better scarfing? That way you could remove the bet and let the winnings run.

It's annoying if they run up to 20 - but only the crystal ball knows that.
