We'd like to hear your opinion

Hello, everyone,

In my portfolio, I'm investing in, among other things, the $DBXD (-1,06 %) with a position of just under 13,000 euros and $ISAC (-0,39 %) with a holding of just under 3,500 euros.

I’ve had $SIE (-1,07 %) shares in my portfolio that have yielded a gain of just under 123% and are currently worth 6,000 euros. I’m no longer adding to these, and they’re just sitting there :-)

When I look at the position sizes in the DAX ETF, Siemens has the highest weighting there, so I’m considering selling my Siemens shares and putting the entire amount into the $ISAC (-0,39 %) .

On the other hand, there’s still the matter of the possible spin-off of $SHL (-0,64 %) and the potential distribution of free shares to Siemens shareholders—which I’d still like to be a part of.

What do you guys think: should I just let things run their course—the ETFs are topped up monthly anyway—or should I sell the Siemens shares, forgo the annual 150-euro dividend, and put the money into the $ISAC (-0,39 %) ?

I don't know if I'd cut back on the DAX... 🤔
I'd probably just cut back on the $ISAC and keep the $SIE.

@Olli68 I've been investing in the DAX for ages and, according to Getquin, I'm up about 90%. I'll definitely keep the ETF; my entry price was around 120 euros.

@Haberlapp Do you hold stocks based on their past performance?

@jkb92 It’s more about the performance over the last 1–2 years. I’m just not sure right now whether it makes sense to invest in the DAX and also keep the stocks in my portfolio (double the effort :-))
Of course, I still see upside potential in the stock, but I’d have that with the DAX ETF as well. And with the capital from the stocks, I could increase the percentage allocation to the $ISAC in my portfolio.

@Haberlapp I just overlaid the charts. The DAX and Siemens are moving in similar patterns, except that Siemens is outperforming the DAX. And then there are the dividends. My conclusion from this would be to reduce my position in the DAX ETF—or at least stop adding to it—and instead continue to increase my position in Siemens.

@jkb92 That’s a good idea, too. The $DBXD currently accounts for 21% of my portfolio, my $ICDU is just under 20%, and my $ISAC —which I want to increase—is still below 10%, but I plan to raise it to 20% as well. So that’s a good idea of yours… to shift some of my DAX savings allocation to the ISAC and also invest more in Siemens again.

The DAX hasn't even yielded 5% over the past year. You'd need a lot of imagination and faith in the government to invest that much there😬.

In other words: why would you sell Siemens under these circumstances? I’d rather consider reallocating some of my holdings to Siemens. Maybe not at the current price, but perhaps during the next correction.

I was also invested, but I shifted my holdings to the MSCI World, since I don’t think the DAX currently has any real growth potential due to Germany’s economic policies. Furthermore, for me, the point of an ETF is to diversify (at least in my portfolio), and I personally don’t see that happening if you’re investing in a single country’s index (especially one with an economic situation like Germany’s).
