From a market perspective, Mexico has become BYD's largest foreign market, with plug-in hybrid electric passenger cars (PHEVs, 71,300 units) performing significantly better than battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

This largely reflects local demand for greater range flexibility on long-distance journeys and the convenience of conventional refueling.

As a gateway to the North American market, the increase in exports to Mexico also reflects BYD's strategic positioning within the regional supply chain.

It is worth noting that Mexico will increase tariffs on vehicles from China from 20% to 50% from January 1, 2026. In response to the impending policy change, BYD significantly increased shipments to Mexico towards the end of the year, pushing the market to the top of its overseas rankings.

Brazil followed closely behind, forming a two-track growth pattern driven by both battery electric and plug-in hybrid models. Sales of BEVs reached 47,188 units, supported by fleet renewal in the ride-hailing market and local incentives for new energy vehicles.

Meanwhile, sales of plug-in hybrids totaled 61,083 units, which are well suited to the needs of Brazil's long-distance transportation and serve as an important driver of market growth.

In Europe, growth is spread across several markets, with Belgium (86,542 units), the UK (69,714 units) and Spain (34,208 units) among the top ten.

Although Belgium is a small domestic market, it serves as an important logistics hub from which many vehicles are distributed to other European countries.

In Belgium, battery electric vehicles lead sales, reflecting the trend towards electrification in Europe, while the UK and Spain show a stable, balanced performance for BEVs and PHEVs.

Future growth will depend on network expansion, pricing and brand strengthening.

Indonesia leads BYD's exports in Southeast Asia with 65,304 BEVs and is an example of the rapid growth of the local BEV market, driven by government incentives and fleet renewal by ride-hailing and cab companies.

In contrast, the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines are showing stronger demand for plug-in hybrids than for pure electric vehicles, reflecting local fuel prices, road conditions and user preference for multi-energy adaptability. Overall, BYD's vehicle lineup shows strong cross-market adaptability and effectively adapts to the different energy structures and usage scenarios of different countries.
