Bitcoin $BTC (-0 %) just did what Bitcoin does: a vertical move hardly someone could have predicted just two days ago, followed by a running retracement everybody now can claims to have expected. This is the asymmetry of narrative — we explain the past with the confidence we never had for the future.
Here @OKX xperp graph
The chart shows a supertrend flipping green, a parabolic SAR chasing price from below, volume spiking on the way up and thinning on the pullback. None of this tells you what happens next. It tells you what already happened. Technicals are excellent historians and mediocre prophets.
What matters isn't the direction of the next candle — nobody owns that information, despite what the loudest voices on your feed will tell you with their retroactively-fitted lines. What matters is your exposure to being wrong. A market that can rally 6% in an afternoon can give it back just as fast, and volatility does not care about your conviction, your leverage, or your need to be right.
The only edge available to most people is not prediction — it's survival. Size your positions as if you have no idea what happens next, because you don't, and neither does anyone else, regardless of the certainty in their tone. Set your stops before you're emotionally invested in defending a losing position, not after.
Fragility is invisible until the moment it isn't. Discipline is the only thing standing between "I called the top" and "I explained why it doesn't matter that I didn't."
Position size like a skeptic. Manage risk like someone who's been wrong before — because you have, and you will be again.
Not financial advice. Just a reminder that markets don't owe you a narrative.
