Nothing ventured, nothing gained - first call warrant! 🚀💰📈

I have just decided to buy my first call warrant. Previously, I had only bought knock-out certificates.

However, as I want to feel my way around first, I'm taking a conservative approach:

Closer to home, it's a call warrant on $RKLB (+3,54 %) with a current delta of 0.76 and a relaxed term until January 2027.

( $DE000VH5Y352 (-13,61 %) )

The strike is $70 - the warrant is therefore already in the money.

I am already looking forward to the development and am looking forward to delving further into the world of warrants. 😌

What about you? Do you also hold warrants? If so, on which stocks? And have you ever been really burned?

I'm certainly not the one you're asking, of course I've often burnt my fingers on bills, but that's just part of my job. The bill you have chosen is totally fine for learning. However, you have to pay attention to the currency. The base price is 70$, not 70€. This means that it is well in the money at the moment and therefore has a leverage of less than 2.

@Multibagger Thanks, Traders Place seems to be faulty. There I can search for strikes sorted by € and the bill was displayed as "70". Too bad, I would have liked to take a bill for 70€ (or then probably 83$). I'll stick with the bill now.

@Multibagger You are talking about a leverage below 2. Do I not divide the underlying value by the warrant price x 0.1? That would then be 67€/2.88€x0.1= 2.33 🤔

@HoldTheMike This is appropriate for KO bills, but with classic OS, implied vola and the premium included in the calculation also play a role. Therefore, the leverage corresponds more to the delta indicated in the OS overview.

Warrants were almost always a loss-maker for me. I've kept my hands off them for a few years now. 🫣

@HoldTheMike The € price plays no role here. Only when converting the value of the OS in $ into €. This is then influenced by the exchange rate.
