Two years ago, when I made a one-off investment of over 100k, I opted for the accumulating type... This allows compound interest and tax deferral to take effect. Of course, it only makes sense if you don't need the interest income every month. It's part of the cash reserve.
@TotallyLost I also have the dividend-paying stock in my portfolio: the money for the tax on the advance lump-sum payment for the reinvestment funds has to come from somewhere, after all
