Savings sub-accounts?

Hello everyone,

I have 2 children of my own and 4 godchildren - don't ask me how this could happen ;)

My husband and I each use our own securities account with TR to make the most of the saver's allowance - there's no other way at the moment. We have been using Oskar for our two children and godchildren for 6 years (2 different accounts). Yes, the fees are comparatively high, but somehow that was the easiest thing for us at the time - we simply weren't ready to take care of everything ourselves.

I have now opened another custody account with Scalable for my godchildren so that we can continue to invest regularly. The plan is to close the additional Oskar account (with around €3,500) and reallocate the money.

Now my mother would like to save for my niece together with me. The question is: what is the best way to organize this?

I would like to have a way of seeing how much is available for each child separately - regardless of whether they are my godchildren or my own. The children are very different ages (some are already 8, others have just been born), so transparency would be super important.

Is there a broker that allows "sub-accounts" or some sort of separate savings plans per child, ideally within one main account? I'd hate to open four different brokers just to keep track. Maybe someone has a clever tip?

PS: I would actually like to invest everything in the $VWCE (+0,47 %) one ETF for all the children. Or should I perhaps choose a different ETF for each child individually?

Thanks in advance for your input :)

At ING, for example, you can open a junior custody account for each child (but you need parental consent) and manage them via a single account. Including a separate call money account for each custody account.

Otherwise a different ETF with the same/similar index for each child

Why no junior deposit per child?

@Dividenden-Sammler I would always need the rights from the parents, right? Is it supposed to be a surprise for some people? But I'll give it some thought! For example, what do I do if a child can't handle money at all? Then I would like to continue saving until they are ready. Otherwise they have to be given money at 18, right? These are all things I still have to think about...

@Nobody_123 ok with my own children. I may also soon dissolve Oskar. But I can't use it with godchildren, and not even their parents can. Where are you? Also with Ingdiba?

@Nobody_123 because you have to get the money back for the children on your tax return, which I don't do for the child.
When considering this, you may want to bear in mind that the godchildren will later have to pay gift tax if the custody account is in your name

With Smartbroker you can create up to 2 secondary custody accounts, so including the main custody account you could create separate accounts for up to 3 children. The main and secondary custody accounts are of equal value and each have their own clearing account.
