Ex day March 09 is on getquin under dividends

@GoDividend Ex day means that the dividend discount is traded on this day. So that would mean that I would have to be invested by the day before at the latest, right? Buying on the 9th would not help me, as the discount has already been made and the right to the dividend expires.

@user45944851f92d4aca then you know all about it.

@user45944851f92d4aca March 09 is just a prediction because that's how it was last year. 09.03.2024 is a Saturday, I doubt that this will be the correct ex-day.
@JJS Okay then, better go shopping a few days in advance.

Read a book first before you put any money into it.

@Rayben Why so unfriendly right away? It was a completely normal question. And by the way, I've been invested for years.

@Pappenheider Boy, I understand it very well. Do you know everything without ever asking?

@Pappenheider That's exactly why this forum is there, to exchange ideas or to look for answers here if you don't know something. Of course I could have googled it, but I didn't 😅

@user45944851f92d4aca wasn't meant to be unkind, just a tip. After all, it's about your money and you should get more detailed information.
@Rayben I'm well aware of this, but just because I didn't know this, but am otherwise well informed, doesn't mean that I'm uneducated and therefore shouldn't invest.

As far as I know, ETFs do not have dividends, but income from the securities they hold, which is either distributed (= what is presumably referred to here as a dividend) or reinvested. For ETFs, it is usually the day before the distribution on which I have to hold the shares. In my opinion, there is not such an extreme difference between record day and ex-day as with some US shares. This is also in line with the historical values of this ETF here, the record date is always one day before the ex-date.

@_xempex_ All right, thank you ☺️

Why is it important to keep them all for 2024? The dividend is deducted from the share price anyway. So if you get in on the last possible day, your share will be worth just as much less the next day as what you were paid. So it makes no difference at all whether you buy in the day before or the day after

Does withholding tax apply to this ETF for German investors?
