Hello everyone!
Well, I did it—I’ve reached 100k and passed my first “big” milestone. Last week, I was able to add $4,100 into $SCHD . I’m pleased and happy to have achieved my goal this year. I have to say, I didn’t feel any massive relief (which I expected), but I’ll try to take a breather and slow down a bit, as I mentioned before. According to my FIRE calculator, 100k might even be enough to reach a million dollars by my 40s. Of course, for a truly comfortable life (doing whatever you want, traveling, buying what you want, and not worrying about money), I’d need 3-4 million. But that sounds like an overwhelming number, or a sure path to burnout by age 35, with even worse consequences. So for now, I’d like to focus on what I have, share my experience where I can, and gradually think about the next steps.
It feels like I need to pay more attention to what I want and need in the here and now, and push myself less toward relentless saving while tuning in more to myself. This will be a challenge, as years of saving and restrictions have made me forget how to do this. I think I’ll need to work with a therapist (honestly, I think psychology is essential for everyone, and I’ve been working on it for a while now).
I’ve decided to start a mini-series of posts about finance: financial literacy basics, tools, calculations, etc. I think I’d find it interesting to put something like this together and see the response. Most likely, I’ll do this on Telegram, while keeping my weekly updates here.
Take care and have a good week!
Too good not to share with the GetQuin community, recent interview I did of a fellow dividend investor. Colby breaks down the necessity to understand your investor profile and timeline - something I typically harp on and why I sold $JNJ (-0,01 %) for $UNH (+1,4 %) while also shrugging off $SCHD for $VOO (+0,04 %) and $VGT (-0,63 %)
Let me now what you think, feel free to be as ruthless as you care to be!
We've reached yet another milestone 💚💚💚
With the big dividend payouts in September we have reached a new high of 1253.28$ for 09/2024. This marks the second time (after 06/2024 were I've reached a >1000$/month in dividend payment outs. 💰 I couldn't be happier, especially since this portfolio is only 10 months old.
For those you read my recent posts and are aware of my goals for this year and beyond, but here is a quick reminder.
My initial goal for 2024 was to have about 400$/month, when I saw how things progressed, I updated that to 500$/month, but looking ahead we are expected to end up with more than 800$/month, which would simply be insane. (TTM >650$/month)🤪
(For clarification I don't calculate that as TTM, but rather as the average of trailing 6 months, trailing 3 month, future 3 months, future 6 months. This is simply because I am still building my positions aggressively so that the trialing months significantly under-represent the status quo. I am aware of the uncertainty of future dividend payouts, which is why they are approximated conservatively. )
At the moment the total value of the portfolio stands at just above 170k$ with the plan for >180k$ end of 2024
>270k$ end of 2025
>370k$ end of 2026
I also decided to sell off one property and throw most of the money into the marker. If that happens the above number will be updated with my next post. I did lose my job recently, but hope something else comes up rather shortly, fingers crossed. 🤞This obviously also affects my investments.
My overall goal is to consistently have 4k$/month at my disposal for retirement (ideally without dipping into the principal of the investment). About 2k$/month will be provided by rental income and thinking that I will be more than one third to the 2k$/month needed from dividend payouts by the end of the year gets me very giddy.
This is the list of all dividends for this month:
$MAIN 21.81$
$MAIN 26.70$ (special dividend)
$JEPI 124.34$
$JEPQ 117.50$
$SPYI 102.43$
$QQQI 68.05$
$O 104.41$
$SPLG 67.10$
$SCHD 620.95$
________________
Total: 1253.28$
I also did some changes to the portfolio in minimizing the positions I hold.
I sold $MAIN (+0,23 %) , $EPR (+0,82 %) , $EPRT (+1,63 %) and $VICI (+0,05 %) not really because I don't thing they are good companies, but rather to stock up on securities I surely want to hold forever ($SCHD , $O (-0,58 %) and $SPLG ) with some cash flow options like $QQQI and $SPYI sprinkled in for good measure.
I am sure there will be people saying that judging from that list, the portfolio is too conservative... and I would somewhat agree with you, but my objective is to build mainly a dividend portfolio that will consistently help with my expenses in retirement.
That being said, I am planning on expanding my $SPLG and $SCHD positions as well as adding to my cash for a potential market downturn so don't judge me too harshly.😜
Happy investing 📈, happy compounding💸!

Keeping it up 📈
Hello everyone!
I usually write my post in the morning, but today it’s coming in the evening (let's see how active things are!). YET.ANOTHER.WEEK. Time flies guys. Honestly, there’s something therapeutic about these weekly reports — feels like I’m keeping a journal. So, let’s get to it!
$BTC (-3,05 %) and other crypto aren't doing too well. We've been below the 10/20 MA on the weekly chart for two weeks now, and the correlation with $SPY (-0,24 %) is weak, which makes me a bit uneasy. I've still made VERY good profits on BTC and plan to hold some of it for 10+ years, but for now, I plan to get rid of all altcoins and keep only BTC, $ETH (+0,97 %) , and maybe a couple more. As I mentioned in the comments, having a lot of coins in my portfolio is more about fun than serious investment. I don’t believe that buying shitcoins is a good long-term strategy — it could even hurt my path to FIRE, but hey, it’s fun, lol.
I bought 700 euros worth of $VTI (-0,12 %) and invested 200 euros into my Revolut AutoInvest.
I submitted a request to withdraw funds from my Revolut AutoInvest account :) I plan to use that money to buy $SCHD .
Overall, it’s been an interesting week. I plan to make more purchases this week and am steadily working towards my first 100k goal.
Have a great week, and see you next time!
Man, I got sick again and was out for a week. I guess I need to slow down with the diet and workouts, lol.
Hello everyone! Wow, what a week gotta tell you! I hope you're all doing well and that last week's market sell-off didn't get you down. I was closely watching $BTC (-3,05 %) last week, but I didn't make any trades because I was sick and my head was in a fog. This week, I'll likely buy more ETFs $FWRG (-0,82 %)
$SCHD
$VUSA (-0,29 %) and sell off some weak positions in crypto because I don't see any point in holding onto losers like $MATIC (+2,45 %)
$ALGO (-5,94 %)
$LINK (-1,29 %) etc. in my portfolio.
Have a great week, and see you next time!
Hello everyone, I've been investing for about 2 months my goal with this portfolio (taxable account) is to focus on 4-6 companies that I believe they have:
Focusing in 4-6 companies would allow me to build a good position and once my portfolio gets to 8-10k I will add couple more stocks. I am also considering adding a ETF for a core position in this portfolio, I also have a ROTH IRA that it mainly consist of $SCHD & $SCHG .
For my 4 stock at the moment I have picked the following
1.- VISA INC -> $V (+0,06 %)
This is amazing company, incredibly strong balance sheet with high return. I know $MA (-0,16 %) could be a problem later on but I honestly don't see $V (+0,06 %) going away anytime soon.
2.- SalesForce -> $CRM (-0,26 %)
The leading crm business in the US, most companies I know use this amazing software.
3.- Boston Scientific -> $BSX (-1,75 %)
Boston Scientific is a Medical Device Company in the past years they have growth at a good rate, currently with their new product in the Electrophysiology world dealing with Afib their holy grail product FaraPulse position themselves at the top. I believe with this technology and the introduction of other products they will grow more.
4.- Ulta Beauty -> $ULTA (+3,14 %)
Makeup, while looking for a company that is more consumer oriented, I came across $ULTA (+3,14 %) when dealing with consumer companies the worry is always that they are cyclical business and if we experience a period where the economy takes a hit people will cut the extra expenses. But let's be honest Girls want to look pretty. Every $TGT (+3,28 %) has a $ULTA (+3,14 %) inside this increases their exposure and with the expansion of ULTA outside of the US I believe they can experience a good growth.
Going forward I am planning to add $AMZN (+0,69 %) if their stock continues to drop. I Don't have a focus on dividends at the moments but I don't mind having a good stock that pays one.
I am looking forward to your feedback, any suggestions thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
