1. RWE plans to phase out coal in 2030
Energy company RWE plans to bring forward its coal phase-out by eight years to 2030. This emerges from a key points agreement between RWE, the Federal Ministry of Economics and the NRW Ministry of Economics. The traffic light coalition at the federal level aims to bring forward the coal phase-out in Germany, which is scheduled for 2038 at the latest, "ideally" to 2030

3rd Apple must implement charging cable standard
The iPhone and other Apple devices may have to use a common charger after EU lawmakers approved a rule. The European Parliament has approved the rule, which, if passed, will mean all phones, tablets and cameras sold in the European Union must be equipped with a USB Type-C charging port by the end of 2024. EU lawmakers argue that the rules will reduce waste because consumers won't have to buy a new charger every time they purchase a device. Germany continues to say no to demands for reparations from Poland. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock rejected the neighboring country's demand for payments in the billions for damages suffered during World War II.
