Jim Cramer, the host of Mad Money, recently shared valuable investment lessons from his 40 years of experience in the field. He noted that he often emphasizes the importance of discipline over conviction and regularly repeats this message on his show.
"Why is this rule so important? Simple. One of my main goals is to help you stay in the game. You know that's the hardest part of investing. It's about persevering in tough times and taking short-term hardships to make long-term gains. And that's exactly what's been happening in the stock market for a century."

A caller asked if they should keep or sell Elf Beauty, Inc (NYSE:ELF), and Cramer responded:
"Oh dear, I have to tell you, down 40%, everyone has come to the conclusion that it's not working anymore. There are tariffs, blah, blah, blah. I'm not going to sell Tarang Amin 40% down, that doesn't mean I'm going to buy it, but I'm not going to sell it. That's crazy. People hate it. Let's just wait and see. Let's wait and see, let's not bite. Not yet."
elf Beauty (NYSE:ELF) offers a wide range of beauty and skin care products under several brands, including elf Cosmetics, elf Skin, Well People, Naturium and Keys Soulcare. In early February, Cramer made the following comments about the company in the wake of customs concerns:
"Yeah, it's going to report ... They make this stuff in China, it's really bad and it's going to hurt the profit margin, and we need to hear what they have to say. I have to tell you, I'm very uncomfortable buying something that's completely made in China because we don't know what the president is going to do if China doesn't play ball."
