United Internet ( $UTDI (-0,68 %) ) - Ralph Dommermuth wants to buy United Internet for 35 euros per share. This would give him more than half of the Internet group. The investor intends to acquire 17 million United Internet shares, either through an existing company or a new company he controls. The share price, which was nearly 37 euros in September, had fallen by about 5 euros by the end of October. United Internet had announced in mid-September that it intended to terminate its share buyback program early due to low trading volumes. However, it is not yet certain that Dommermuth will actually acquire the company.
Peloton ( $2ON (-0,42 %) ) — The surge in demand for exercise bikes driven by the COVID-19 pandemic has come to an end. Last quarter, the fitness equipment manufacturer reported a loss of $376 million. This forced Peloton to lower its revenue forecasts for the current fiscal year and its subscriber growth projections. Investors reacted immediately, and the stock price plummeted by about 33% in a single day.
Varta ( $VAR1 ) - The battery manufacturer lowered its sales forecast for the current fiscal year due to production difficulties at certain suppliers. In response, the stock price fell by about 19%.

New York City - New York’s new mayor (a Democrat), Eric Adams, discussed in an interview—one day after his official election—his plan to introduce a coin for the city. This is intended to be one of the first steps in transforming New York into a cryptocurrency-friendly city. In addition, he announced that he would like to receive his first three paychecks in cryptocurrency. He has also already met with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who is known for his positive stance on cryptocurrencies and who, last week, also requested that 100% of his salary be paid in Bitcoin. Miami already has its own City Coin, which is indeed very popular. Francis and Adams have now decided to engage in a friendly competition to see which of the two cities can demonstrate the most progress in the crypto space. Adams’ goal is for New York to maintain its reputation as a financial capital in the age of cryptocurrencies.
Commonwealth Bank ( $CWW (-2,03 %) ) — Australia’s largest bank announced yesterday that it is working to make Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies tradable for its customers in the coming weeks. In addition, the bank stated that it also plans to offer customers the option to store cryptocurrencies with the bank. Initially, only Bitcoin ($BTC-EUR), Bitcoin Cash ($BCH-EUR), Ethereum ($ETH-USD), and Litecoin ($LTC-EUR) will be available. The rollout will be carried out in collaboration with Gemini, a U.S. company specializing in crypto-asset custody. The Commonwealth Bank is by far the largest financial institution on the continent, with total assets of $688.4 billion, so this news represents a major step forward for the crypto industry.
