@Asgard19 I understand your point, of course, and have a similar view.
However, if you do the math honestly, it all comes down to the same thing. Whether I receive a dividend or whether it is included in the share price and I sell the same value of shares makes no difference again.

I find Gerd Kommer's explanation of this very instructive:

@FwieRendite Comparing ETF dividends with individual share dividends is like comparing apples with pears. There is a huge difference in percentage returns between the two financial investments. And who is Gerd Kommer and why is he not yet a billionaire? Question after question.

@TheDividendCollector why???

Since ETFs reflect nothing other than the performance of the shares they contain, it makes no difference whether I buy an ETF with e.g. 100 shares or hold the same 100 shares individually in my securities account.

@TheDividendCollector Now please explain to me why you are 👍 funds but 👎 ETFs?

@FwieRendite well, you have to take the TER into account

@KevinC What are you referring to? To the ETFs vs funds or to the 100 individual stocks vs 1 ETF?

But it doesn't really matter, as in both cases the TER will be lower for ETFs. With the exception of one-off investments in shares, of course.

@FwieRendite I only use one-off investments. I don't think savings plans for shares make sense for me. Apart from that, my broker is rather old-fashioned and only offers a few savings plans at all.
