What do you think will happen with NVIDIA?

In view of the ongoing AI hype, which is increasingly penetrating adjacent market segments, demand is expected to remain stable or even increase in the medium term.
At the same time, however, it will be essential for providers to further optimize product quality and the price-performance ratio. There is currently a lack of serious competition in some submarkets, but they are continuing to catch up!
In the short term, I believe a further setback for Nvidia is conceivable, especially against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions and the possible escalation of the trade conflict.
In the long term, however, the structural growth potential in the AI sector remains intact or is increasing. As soon as the macroeconomic environment stabilizes and large companies ramp up their investment activities in this area again, demand is likely to pick up significantly. Of course, the hype may also play its part. Personally, I will buy more if the price falls a little lower.

@Pedi all correct in the long term, but in the short term it's more about tariffs. Trump will cause prices to fall from time to time, let's see how the next few years turn out until the next president takes office

On the other hand, I would be interested to know to what extent a buy and hold strategy is compatible with such cyclical stocks as semiconductors etc., at least if they don't have at least a top dividend yield. I think cyclicals are only suitable for trading. This also applies to chemicals, automobiles, etc. Because what is supposed to happen to profits when the market is saturated? For me, that will be the case with Nvidia in 2 years at the latest.

I think $AMD will have the edge.

@Max095 Why do you mean that?

I like to repeat myself: target price €50.

The tariff and economic war, the USD crisis, the debt crisis - that alone is enough to take the wind out of the sails of all optimistic forecasts.

With the P/E ratio and the growth, the share price should slowly rise again.
The decision on the medium-term trend will be made in the next few days. If we fall below $90, the downward trend will continue. Then I see $75 as the next target. That would also be an interesting entry price.

For all those who want to be invested for longer than 12 months, these are currently all buy prices in my opinion.

I have a comparatively small position in NVIDIA in my portfolio! Personally, I see Alphabet a bit more positively, especially because they have opened the doors for the US defense industry! But I wouldn't write off NVIDIA in the long term in any case!
