There seems to be a systemic discrepancy.

Currently, postal and parcel services in Germany are separated by DHL and Deutsche Post.

However, DHL has announced that it will remedy this situation in the coming years by creating a complete network that will eliminate the separation of pure parcel and postal delivery services.

In the long term, there are also plans to optimize delivery by optimizing pre-sorting. The delivery staff will receive ready-made routes on site, in which the letters are pre-sorted by machine and distributed according to route. This means that the deliverer only has to sort and load the parcels.
