@Iwamoto I can tell you exactly what happened.
He set a stop-buy as a market order.

This means that as soon as a certain price above the current price is reached, he buys until he has the previously defined number of shares.

IF "Price" > "X" THEN BUY TILL stock_ammount = "Y"

But what happens if price X is reached but there are no more sellers at this price?
Then the order book is searched for the order with the most favorable selling price.

If a lot of people do this at once, then the price shoots up, because many people are willing to buy at ANY PRICE above X, but there are not enough shares.

The same thing can happen with a stop sell.

There is no guarantee that your stop sell will be executed anywhere near your desired price. If there are not enough buyers at your "desired price", then you can't sell there either, no matter what your order says.

@Panu The stock exchange is not a concert of wishes, oh yes, and it has nothing to do with TR, they just pass on the order. This runs via LS-Exchange.

What can we learn from this?
Especially in illiquid penny stocks, you should work with limit orders and not with market orders. And don't trade outside the trading hours of your home exchange. 😘

Yeah, I have ETH and SOL, but the truth is probably that I have a lot of ETH and a little SOL. 😅

To be honest, I have no idea where the best place is to buy them; I’m on Coinbase. They’re expensive, but
I also get better terms because I’m a long-time customer and have a trading volume of over $10,000

I’m with them because I consider them pretty safe—I’ve seen too many exchanges implode already.
I’m happy to pay extra for that.

But there are probably better companies in the EU by now; however, since I don’t plan on buying again and am gradually reducing my holdings, I’m too lazy to switch.

However, the basic problem remains the same.

You can only buy something if there are sellers.
If the market maker has no more shares, you won't get any.

As I said, this can quickly happen with illiquid penny stocks outside the trading hours of the home exchange.

Presumably market order set. Then the error was definitely yours. It would not have been executed with a limit order.

And also note the spread between the bid/ask price. If you go by the displayed price (bid price), this cannot work either, as the buy price (ask price) is higher from the outset. Topic spread. This may also be the reason.

Think the error was probably not with TR but with the person in front of the screen.

@Dividenden-Sammler Yes, I had also tried twice. Normal buy order was hanging in nowhere without being executed - but money was already gone in "Cash". Could only find the order directly under Beyond Meat and cancel it again. Push message for cancelation came at least 5 minutes later...

@Panu Simply not executed. Cash was "gone", but no shares in the portfolio. Nothing under transactions either. I only found the open order when I clicked on Beyond Meat again. However, I canceled it as quickly as possible because I knew that it would be triggered "sometime" later. The push notification that the order had been canceled only came minutes later. I'm sure it was/is another TR problem!
