Thinking of starting with NVIDIA and Google, what do you think?

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve been investing regularly in ETFs (S&P 500 $VUAG (-3.82%)
and All-World $VWCE (-3.89%)) and Bitcoin $BTC (-0.17%), all for different goals but all for long-term.

I’m now considering allocating a small part of my portfolio into individual stocks, mainly to try and capture some short- to mid-term gains.

My initial idea is to start with:

The total investment would be around €500, and I’d like to keep a balanced, non-speculative approach, but still benefit from the momentum around AI-related companies.

👉 What do you think?

  • Does this combo make sense as a first step into individual stocks?
  • Would you diversify more (e.g. include Microsoft, AMD, etc.) or keep it focused on a few strong names?
  • Any thoughts on the current timing to enter these positions?

Really appreciate any opinions or personal experiences 🙏

@user28461 I absolutely second this opinion!
I already have some Googl shares, and I bought more 1 week ago besides passing its resistance of 200$ after wining the antitrust case, because it's a strong company, has a great monopoly and I still consider its business is undervalued. If you already have S&P500, and you're going for some individual stocks, you should pick very few you believe are the more valuable or you think will have the highest grow, because SP500 is almost 40% of MAG7 Stocks, and if you by them all individual, it'll not differ that much from SP500/Nasdaq100
The main problem is that today's ATH is almost always a normal price for the future.
If you thing the company is solid, has great possibile to growth and nice future incomes, you deserve to buy it! You have to buy it!
My 50 cents are: yes Nvidia is a great company, but Google currently is less overvalued... So I'd go with Google, Nvidia... I keep an eye on it but with these prices... I can't expect a high return in next years
