solid new addition

Good morning everyone! I’m really happy to have found what I consider a great entry point into Vinci. With a bit of luck, it moved up right after my purchase. Moments like this reinforce my strategy of building a portfolio with what I believe are excellent companies with strong fundamentals. Looking forward to holding this one for the long term and seeing how it develops!$Vinci

Can you please share what is the taxation on you on capital gains and dividends for this french company?

@Dedp00l In Portugal, as a tax resident, both capital gains and dividends are generally taxed at a flat rate of 28%.

For capital gains, I pay 28% on the net profit when I sell the shares (sale price minus purchase price and transaction costs).

Regarding dividends from a French company like Vinci, France withholds 12.8% at source under the double taxation treaty. In Portugal, dividends are also taxed at 28%, but the tax already paid in France is credited.

So in practice, 12.8% is withheld in France and I pay the remaining 15.2% in Portugal, bringing the total effective tax to 28%.

@sdp_oxigen ufff, that's tough! Thank you for the info. In my country there is no tax on capital gain, and has 5%, so my in my broker's statement probably the dividend tax will be 12.8%, without paying any addition by my national tax agency.
