Yesterday's figures at Saint Gobain

$SGO (+0.23%)

It started well today. The figures were good. The outlook is also good. Unfortunately, my buy in was at €85. If you're still looking for something in the construction sector that isn't already too high. Maybe this is something for you. I think it's a good time. Definitely better than mine. But I didn't notice any of the gains mentioned below 😄

The Compagnie de Saint-Gobain S.A. share (ISIN: FR0000121501) rises sharply after outstanding results for the fourth quarter of 2025. The building materials giant reports robust demand in Europe and the USA. DACH investors benefit from strong presence in Germany. (ISIN: FR0000121501)

Compagnie de Saint-Gobain S.A., FR0000121501 -

The Compagnie de Saint-Gobain S.A. share price rallied significantly on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. On Euronext Paris, the share was last quoted at EUR 82.50, which corresponds to an increase of 4.8 percent. The trigger: surprisingly strong quarterly figures for the 2025 financial year, which the French building materials group published the previous evening. Sales and operating margin significantly exceeded analysts' expectations, driven by price increases and cost control.

Status: 17.03.2026

Dr. Elena Hartmann, Chief Analyst Industry & Materials at DACH-Investor, analyzes the latest developments at Saint-Gobain. The figures underline the Group's resilience in a volatile construction industry environment and offer opportunities for long-term investors in German-speaking countries.

What happened? Saint-Gobain reported a 3.2 percent increase in sales to EUR 52.3 billion for the full year 2025. The operating EBIT margin climbed to 12.1 percent, better than the forecast 11.5 percent. The High-Performance Materials division and sustainable construction solutions in particular showed momentum. Free cash flow before financing amounted to EUR 3.8 billion, creating a solid basis for dividends and buybacks. The share reacted promptly with gains on Euronext Paris in EUR.
