The interesting question is: what kind of coffee do you buy that you perceive as expensive?
Isn't it part of being a good investor to find good value coffee?
I had a few tips 😉

•@ichmussweg well, sensible coffee as a whole bean does have its price.🤷🏼♂️
However, the price development of the last few years is really extreme, from the end consumer's point of view (without investor background and market understanding) one would certainly be even more extremely annoyed.
I'm happy to take tips, keep them coming.😉

@All-in-or-nothing
I grew up in a household that consumed Melitta coffee, ground. Brrrr
Then I moved to the big city. Here the hippies drink "Third-Wafe-Coffee" from the local roaster for 14-18 EUR per 250g gram. With notes of white peach and tonka bean - crazy
A clear recommendation - for people who have a Rossmann nearby:
https://www.rossmann.de/de/lebensmittel-fairista-espresso-ganze-bohnen/p/4251455299600
Fair, integrative roasting company, quality at the level of local roasters or the online mail order company ála Coffee Circle. With a 10% voucher (which is always available at Rossmann), you're just over €20 per kilo. That's not much more than you pay for highly industrially produced 0815 coffee from the big well-known brands.
If you think about how good chocolate has developed in terms of price, that's absolutely fair!

•@ichmussweg That sounds great, I'll keep that in mind and I'll make sure to bag it the next time I visit the Rossmann store around the corner.👌🏻
Thanks for the great tip.🙏🏻

@All-in-or-nothing I'm always trying new things too. What have you bought in the past?

•@ichmussweg Speicherstadt, Elbgold, Speicher & Consorten, Café Intencion (Budnikowsky), Lavazza. So of course I'm already shopping in the high-price segment per se, so your tip is really worth its weight in gold.😉

@All-in-or-nothing I used to buy Café Intencion too. The other varieties sound like something from the north, which is not available here!
But with the varieties mentioned, I can see why it got a bit expensive for you. My favorite chocolate (Gepa Grand Noir) used to cost 2.19€ or 2.29€. Now we're at 3.5-4€ for a 100g bar, which is over 40%. But here, too, I am looking for similarly good alternatives that are not so expensive.

•@ichmussweg is also north 😉 Manufactory roasteries in Hamburg.
To be honest, Café Intencion was the one I was most dissatisfied with in terms of taste for the price. But I'll definitely give your tip a try.
Unfortunately, cocoa is similar to coffee. Both are quite climate-sensitive and weather-sensitive plants, where it will certainly continue to be problematic in the future with periods of extreme weather, crop failures or loss of quality.
