Qualcomm launches AI chips for data centers on the market

My dears, I will stay with $QCOM (-0.52%) and $AWE (-1.39%) invested. Because I'm thrilled with how broadly Qualcomm has positioned itself in recent years.

I always knew that AI in smartphones would be difficult without Qualcomm.

And AR glasses as well. Qualcomm also plays an important role in autonomous mobility.

And it's hard to imagine robotics without it. And now it's moving on to data centers.

The chip manufacturer wants to challenge its competitor Nvidia with its new products. The chips will be available from next year. The Qualcomm share reacts clearly.

San Francisco. Qualcomm is entering the market for AI data centers with new chips and computers. The US company presented two corresponding chips in San Diego on Monday, which should be commercially available from next year.

The new chips, named AI200 and AI250, are designed for improved memory capacity and the execution of AI applications and will be available in 2026 and 2027 respectively. The first customer will be the Saudi AI start-up Humain, which plans to use 200 megawatts of computing power based on the new chips from 2026.

Qualcomm intends to offer the products either as individual chips or as complete servers. If the component is only used as a chip, it could be used in devices based on processors from Nvidia or other competitors. As a complete server, it will compete with the offerings of these chip manufacturers.

Qualcomm shares rose 22 percent at their peak on Wall Street, their biggest one-day gain in more than six months.

To strengthen its AI portfolio, Qualcomm announced the acquisition of Alphawave, a developer of semiconductor technologies for data centers, for around USD 2.4 billion in June.

I got in with 10K in February and then it went down -30% until April. Plus -10% currency differences until today. Nevertheless, I held on and waited for a day like today. I got out with at least 6% plus although I was still at -11% this morning and the moment of the sale was almost optimal. Shortly afterwards it went down again. I will definitely get back in. But then no longer with 40% of the portfolio. Now I can spread out and build up my portfolio nicely. Today is a great day!

@Mi-t-chel at around 120€ I would have gladly bought it

@Mi-t-chel $QCOM hitting $200 is just crazy, such a speculative move! 😂 I was watching for that 2.5% yield after the new tariffs, but it never came. Fundamentals matter in the long run, not the hype.
My dear. Great

The share price reflected the news well today. Always in the WL but never got in. Too bad. 🙈

@TradingHase
You've also been to lots of bunny parties

@Tenbagger2024 Yes, you're right, actually too many, but I still have an overview 🙈

@TradingHase
Don't make too much small small. Then you won't have any more leverage, by the way

@Tenbagger2024 How much is too small per position?
profile image
@TradingHase less than 1%

@Tenbagger2024 Ok, then I'm just below my minimum investment per share 🙈
