@Hose or you can take the cashback from another card and deposit it yourself with lower costs on the

@Hose I spend an average of just over €2,000 a month, so at 1% over the next 33 years (I'm 22) that would add up to a good amount. Hm. But 33 years is a very long time.

@Europoor Which other card gives you 1% cashback in Germany? I have a Miles & More Hons card, but I "only" get miles with it that I use to fly. Other than that, I can only think of Revolut or Curve, although they probably don't offer more than 0.1% for payments within the EU.

@Hose I transfer part of my salary to Revolut and then buy everything with the Visa debit card that comes with the account. I like the nice spending statistics etc. The question is whether a FinTech like Vantik can last that long. What if the card becomes subject to a fee after 10 years? I'm currently saving/investing €1,100 a month for my old age.

@Jicamas You get 1% with the TARGOBANK Gold card, but it costs €60 pa. Via Crypto com you get 1% without staking if you want to stake, then even significantly more. I personally don't have the card and am somewhat skeptical about the provider, but it is now widely used.
With PB Amex you get 0.5% on all transactions as well as with the LBB Amazon Visa, but you can no longer apply for it.

•@Europoor Oh, thank you very much! I didn't know about Targobank. I could theoretically recoup €60 a year on my credit card transactions through the cashback. Is the Amazon credit card no longer available? American Express is of no interest to me due to its acceptance in Germany and I generally don't identify with the brand. 😵💫 Thanks for your kind comment, I'll take a look at the Targobank one.

•@Jicamas LBB is giving up its credit card segment, so the card cannot be applied for again. It is currently assumed that Amazon will decide on a new provider this year to which existing customers will then be transferred. It remains to be seen what the conditions will look like. But I would be surprised if there were no more cashback. Of course, the card costs may increase. It currently costs €20 or free if you have prime.

•@Hose I have a similar view. The bottom line is that the card costs nothing and you can use MastercardDebit as a replacement for a normal cash card/EC card, e.g. on your normal current account. In combination with e.g. the free Genialcard (VisaCredit, attention: set 100% repayment!) from Hanseatic Bank and a free account with e.g. DKB, which has recently started charging fees for the credit card, you are well positioned. The ETF number is just a small bonus, but not really relevant. And if you're as old as I am, you don't have to wait as long for the payout 😂😂😂

@Europoorso there is no alternative that can compete with the vantikcard in terms of cost.
