The tax burden is effectively even lower because you save the solidarity surcharge on the part of the withholding tax that is taken into account.

Yes, is incurred.

@GreenWash but the tax burden remains the same because it is offset against the German capital gains tax ?

@Quiny I understand, but why is withholding tax always spoken of in such negative terms? Or are there differences, where it is not credited etc.?

@LuxequityAurelie As I understand it, it depends on whether your annual savings allowance has already been exhausted or not. If it is exhausted, what @Quiny said applies.
