The parallels with my own situation are truly incredible—the only difference is that I have two kids.

My current goal is to earn 5–7k in net dividends at a payout rate of around 3–4%. I think that would be enough to live in paradise and leave the two kids a substantial investment portfolio—in the hope that they’ll continue to build on it with determination and that their descendants will also have something to fall back on.

@Danone1986 That was really nice to read. I already suspected that I wasn’t entirely alone in my way of thinking.
Those sound like really good numbers 💪🏼
I hope we can pull this off!

You’ve touched on something that’s going to be one of my next topics.
Wealth and children.
I don’t think it’s good to place too many expectations on our children.
But I’m also looking for my own way to give my child (maybe there’ll be another one…) valuable life lessons without overwhelming them with expectations. I think we’ll be reading each other’s posts a few more times if we stick with this platform 😉

@Wealth-Accelerator Under no circumstances will I force my personal wishes on anyone—that would completely contradict my parenting strategy.

That, however, would be a whole new and much broader topic. But—like everything in life—it’s not exactly easy either 😌
