Of course it was because of Nvidia's gigantic profits and not because the entire market collapsed due to Trump's China tariffs.

Did you or did you even read the article?

You question NVIDIA's practice of investing in companies that then buy chips from NVIDIA.
You compare this with the business model of AOL in 2000/2001 when they also invested in companies. I can still remember very well how that ended back then.

That has nothing to do with Trump

@market_maestro_2368 That could lead to a problem, but I don't think so. By the way, this happens all the time with many companies. I'll give you a couple of examples; the cloud companies Amazon, Microsoft, Google have all invested in companies that have bought cloud from them. And it works very well as you can see and they don't have to do new deals like that to get new customers. It doesn't always have to end badly. It's just a strategy to market the product better.

@Aminmeskini I don't see a big problem there either. Nvidia just buys companies that use their chips. Perhaps these companies simply lack the necessary cash reserves to make it without Nvidia. $IREN also uses Nvidia chips, if I have that right in my head. What would be the problem if Nvidia were involved?
There are countless examples where such strategic partnerships are very successful. One small example that comes to mind is EinzA, which holds shares in a company that produces titanium dioxide, which EinzA in turn buys to produce its paints.

@Hotte1909 I hope for the best 🚀
The dotcom comparison is so stupid, but go for it.
