Why are air conditioning systems standard in new cars but not in new properties in Germany?

It wasn't so long ago that air conditioning was a luxury in cars.

Heat pumps can also cool in summer

@Frei temperature control, not cooling due to condensation. But at least it brings a little something.

@123unddie6 it just depends on the system. With ceiling heating, it goes down a bit further because you can lower the temperature further. You wouldn't want to walk across a 12 degree cold tiled floor even in summer 😀

Because the cost/performance ratio for air conditioning a car is different from that of a house

$CARR has been in the portfolio since the IPO 📈
$TT I also find it interesting

Because people are stupid in Germany. Most buildings in Germany are good at keeping the cold and heat out. If you ventilate at the right times and keep the windows closed at the right times.
@Metis Well, I agree when it's cold, but not when it's warm:
You also have to darken your room because the sun's rays come in through the windows.

@MarkusF That's true, especially in old buildings this is a problem. (Guess who installed thermal foil and thermal roller blinds on the south side of the apartment because of this 🤓), but it's less of a problem in modern, well-insulated buildings.
