Nike dropped after earnings, and honestly I think the problem is bigger than just one quarter

$NKE (+0.26%) is still an iconic brand, but the sportswear market is getting more and more competitive. On, Hoka, Adidas, Puma, Lululemon… consumers have more alternatives than ever.

And in a sector like sportswear, real differentiation is hard.

At some point, a shoe is still a shoe.

A hoodie is still a hoodie.

A logo alone is not always enough to protect margins forever.

Nike reported lower revenue, announced more restructuring, and said its Sportswear, Jordan Brand and Greater China businesses are still under pressure. The stock fell around 5–6% after the report

It seems like a major competitor is emerging in the form of On Holdings. I also think the peak of sneaker hype has clearly subsided. Nevertheless, Nike is a true global brand. I'd buy more at 20 or 25.

@Danone1986 ON Holdings is just a minor hype. In the long run, they're going to have a very hard time.

It's the market leader... it just needs to reverse the downtrend... DCA for those who bought high; I'm adding to my position every week

Maybe 25 € holds. I have an alarm at 20€ and I think we will see this low soon enough.

@Pazzzi agree. painful to watch such an iconic brand decline but nike also became way too premium-priced for what it offers...

@lucky92 that hurts... -48% means your average price is around 54€

Yes and I can not imagine that Nike will recover quickly to get close to 54€. Nevermind, still have probably 50 years of investing life

@lucky92 no worries, i'm pretty sure that Nike can reach this price but I think it will be in 1-2 years

Mine is €44.50; I'm waiting for it to go up, but in the meantime I'm getting the dividends. 😀😀😀

Just Loose it!

I think once it hits €20, even I'll start a small rebound position.
Nike is still a global brand with an enormous reach.

Recovery may take long time, especially with the challenges in China and increasing competition. That said, I'm not relying on a quick turnaround. If the stock keeps dropping, I have five predefined buy orders ready at lower levels 📉📈

@pelo actually at 29,28 📉 23,69 📉 19,17 📉 14,64 📉 8,20. Risk management is the key for me.
