They're slowly turning into a community stock.... That's gone wrong before. Just look at $UKW 🤭😂

@Dividendenopi That said, I think $UKW has performed quite well year-to-date (and also pays a good dividend). I actually considered buying some shares, but I'm trying not to build up too many small positions right now.

@Dividendenopi It’s hard to compare the two positions, isn’t it!? Greencoat UK Wind is a fund, right? Desert Control is currently a high-risk bet—no question about it. But isn’t their business model a reasonable and understandable approach? The company is aggressively tackling the pressing problems facing our planet.
If, even in the medium term, we’re unable to produce an endless supply of energy in a cheap and environmentally friendly way (I assume this won’t happen), then there will be no way around issues like the ones Desert Control is exemplarily tackling.

@MozartsGeist It’s all good. I was just joking. At some point, someone started talking about Greencoat, and one by one, people just kept buying it 😇 People were commenting on when the community would take over the company with their shares. I applied that to Desert Control, since more and more people have been jumping on board lately. Back then, Greencoat had much more substance and paid out decent dividends. Desert Control, on the other hand, is like a casino. I’m convinced by their story, which is why I got in. It’s highly speculative, but if they start to scale up, things are going to take off 🚀

Great idea, but given the business model, I still think the money is going down the drain.

I just noticed that. You bought them for 3 cents, and now they're at 1 cent. How is that even possible?

@TradingHase That's high-risk hot air. 🧨

Joking aside, I think this is very risky and a real penny stock. On the other hand, I actually wish the company every success, because we really need this technology to push back the deserts, grow food, cool the Earth, and conserve water.

@NichtRelevant I completely agree with you. I think the idea and the product—which apparently works—are great. But I don't like the business model they're using to try to make money at all.

@TradingHase The trend is not accurately represented here.

The issues mentioned will increase exponentially in the years ahead. This fact alone will drive the adoption of technologies such as Desert Control. Not least because of the lack of available alternatives.

@MozartsGeist I hope so too, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the model will be a success.

@TradingHase Forget the chart shown here. In Germany, there’s no liquidity in the market and low trading volume, which can lead to some strange price movements depending on the trading venue. On the home exchange—where I also bought shares—prices this week ranged from 0.32 to 0.44 NOK with corresponding trading volumes in terms of share count. Otherwise, it’s a “speculative gamble.”

@Dividendenopi Thanks for the info. These display errors are annoying. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@TradingHase These aren't display errors. It's the data provider's fault. They can only report what the market is doing here. Although I always thought that L&S was the primary data provider here.... But I just checked, and they reflect the data well. So the error lies elsewhere at GQ. But unfortunately, we’re used to that by now.

@Dividendenopi And, unfortunately. 😳
