Momentum Strategy September 2026: Strong Recovery Continues 📈

Hello everyone,

Following the recovery in August, the momentum strategy continued to gain ground in September as well. Both models delivered positive returns, ensuring that the overall strategy has now largely made up for the July setback.

📊 The hard facts

  • Starting capital in September: €41,767.27
  • Ending capital in September: €48,506.16
  • Absolute gain: +€6,738.89
  • Performance in September: +16.12%
  • YTD performance: +95.51%
  • CAGR over the last 365 days: +136.73%
  • CAGR since inception (Oct. 2023): +84.89%

As a result, the overall strategy is once again approaching the €50,000 portfolio value mark and is now just slightly below the record high set in June.

📈 Performance of Individual Strategies

🇺🇸 US Momentum Leaders (Wikifolio)

  • Monthly performance: +17.50%
  • Value appreciation: +€4,807.90

The U.S. model was once again the strongest driver of performance. Leading stocks in the storage, server, and infrastructure sectors continued to build on their relative strength.

🌍 Global 1200 Momentum Leaders $19021982 (+0.38%)

  • Monthly performance: +13.47%
  • Capital gain: +€1,930.99

The global model also continued its upward trend and made a solid contribution to overall performance.

🔄 Rebalancing for October

🇺🇸 US Momentum Leaders $DE000LS9VVV3 (+0.41%)

There are no changes in the U.S. model. The previous top performers are holding their positions and remain invested.

Current allocation for October:

  • ✅ SanDisk (SNDK)
  • ✅ Dell Technologies (DELL)

The following stocks continue to hold the top three spots in the current ranking:

SanDisk (SNDK)

Dell Technologies (DELL)

Micron Technology (MU)

🌍 Global 1200 Momentum Leaders

In the Global model, however, there has been a change for the first time in several months.

Kioxia Holdings has lost its second-place spot in the ranking and is therefore being removed from the portfolio. Replacing it in second place is Dell Technologies (DELL) .

Current October allocation:

  • ✅ SanDisk (SNDK)
  • ✅ Dell Technologies (DELL)

Change from the previous month:

  • ❌ Kioxia Holdings
  • ✅ Dell Technologies (DELL)

This marks the first time both models have identical positions, relying entirely on the combination of SanDisk and Dell Technologies.

Conclusion

September confirms the stabilization following a difficult July. With a monthly return of +16.12% , the overall strategy was able to continue the positive trend from the previous month and bring the YTD performance back up to +95.51% .

Particularly noteworthy is the current convergence of both models: Both the U.S. and Global models identify the same stocks as the most attractive momentum candidates. The fact that two universes calculated independently of one another agree on the same top performers currently speaks to the exceptional strength of SanDisk and Dell Technologies.

With a 365-day CAGR of 136.73% and a CAGR since inception of 84.89% , the strategy remains at a very high level over the long term despite temporary fluctuations.

🚀 The rule-based momentum system remains true to its approach: Allocations are determined not by opinions, but by relative gainers.

Congratulations! You're on the right track 💪🏼
My count has once again crossed the 30k mark. I'm curious to see what the last quarter of the year will bring. 😊

Nice one!
I want to have both strategies equally weighted in my portfolio, so right now I’m allocating a larger portion of my savings to global momentum, since there’s some catching up to do there due to the later investment date. But this month it doesn’t really matter, since the same stocks are included anyway 😂
