Nevertheless, I am very sad about the developments in this forum. I would like to see more love, respect and solidarity. Instead this forum is becoming more and more a stage for self-promotion, it's just generally going in a nasty, individualistic, envious and selfish direction and so much hatefule interactions.

I'm so sad about it 🥺 and miss the good old days here.

As soon as the $BATS (+0.43%) dividend arrives I'll grab a bunch of flowers and a piece of cake with cream to comfort myself 🥹

We have been investing too little in education for years and are raising entire generations to become self-promoters with the "be your own hero" approach, who no longer need to actively engage with society and their contribution to it > see, for example, the abolition of compulsory community service.

In a society in which half of all high school graduates want to become influencers 🤦‍♂️, I am unfortunately not at all surprised by this development.

Unfortunately, this only reflects society. Here in the deep Sauerland it's still pretty normal, but as soon as you look in larger cities (for us it would be Iserlohn/Lüdenscheid) then you see what politics has been doing for 30 years. Of course, it's even worse when you turn on Asi TV on RTL2

Thank you my dear for the words. It's not just the community here, the world is going crazy. Maybe Corona has also driven us into this selfishness. Because when it comes to survival, everyone is closest to themselves. What the world actually needs is a complete slowdown and renewal. Instead, new crises are constantly emerging, which we can follow every day on television and social networks. Never before have we been so close to it. Many people are simply overwhelmed. We should also include people from the community who are often not so friendly. It's often a cry for help and blocking or lashing out might not be helpful here.
Take a look over to America. Here, people are being pitted against each other and society is deeply divided. People are being deported just as they were during the Second World War. And dissatisfaction is also growing here in Germany. This revolution is increasingly reflected in election results.

Hm, so if someone here uses their portfolio to present themselves, I usually don't really care. Firstly, I'm happy for them if they've really saved up that much - after all, that's where I want to be. And secondly, you don't really know whether it's always true, as you can theoretically enter several million via manual entries without it being true. In this respect, I look at everything with a sympathetic but also a critical eye. 😅 And anyone who insults is blocked anyway. I don't have enough time for that.

Oh come on, it's the usual nostalgic nonsense/ bias. It was the same in the beginning, but you thought it was better with less knowledge.

When the wall street reddit people were still here 2-3 years ago, risky after even riskier bet/share/hebl was posted here that it could only get creepy.

The number of users has increased but as always 2-5% of users on forums make up 80-90% of the content.

Dear Kate, I agree with you. Unfortunately, the values you mentioned are basically diminishing in our media world. In the short time I've been here, I see this community more as a nice barometer for what "dumb money" is doing. Please don't get me wrong, there are some very good contributions here and I think the exchange among us small investors is very good. However, I find it quite difficult to ignore all the grumbling and posturing of some people here. One Love.

Yes, there are comments from time to time that are out of order.
but: fortunately there is a nice, large factual topic here on getquin - finance...that makes everything more factual...

And you have to put up with criticism sometimes...under the premise of both.
And when success stories are tasted here, it makes me happy, gives me incentive and I don't see this primarily as self-promotion...

Social media tends to lead to misunderstandings... a personal conversation has more facets...

Personally, I'm only registered here... Facebook and co. have zero added value for me, distracts, eats up time and thoughts...

I stay positive, relaxed, "drink my coffee in peace and quiet and stay"

But I find that there are many informative posts here and users who really go out of their way to inform others. A big thank you to all of them.
