Wow, that stock is really in free fall.

@Sebbster Yes, the company messed up its latest financial results and is facing high costs due to the acquisition of Intelsat.
However, I believe in the company's expertise, and it's a relatively small position in my portfolio.

@NichtRelevant Hmm. That's a nice dividend. At €3, I'll jump on it.

@Sebbster I hope they don't go down that far. But if that happens and the dividend is still maintained....

@NichtRelevant Well, there's that 2024 low of about 3 euros. The question is, why shouldn't it keep falling? 😅

@Sebbster Hmm, I wouldn’t rule it out. Still, I believe SES definitely has quite a few interesting offerings in its product and service portfolio. In particular, I see its military-grade capabilities, which are already generating revenue. The Europeans’ IRIS² project is coming, as there’s a political push for a certain degree of independence from the U.S. (to be finalized by the end of 2024?). SES is one of the three satellite operators in this consortium. I therefore do not view the company’s future as bleak as some portray it. To me, it’s somewhat contradictory that certain startup space companies are being hyped, while an operator that has been in the satellite business since 1985 is being portrayed as obsolete.
Of course, they also offer traditional “satellite TV,” which is on the decline. However, I think management is aware that while some business segments are shrinking, other segments must ensure future growth.

@NichtRelevant I'm with you on that 👍 It's on my watchlist, too. I'm just worried that if there's a sharp correction in the space sector, it'll drop even further. I already sold my space stocks last week.

@Sebbster The industry is generally volatile. Unfortunately, I'll probably need a chunk of money at the end of the month for my construction project; otherwise, I'd already be buying more. But I'm confident that I'll be buying more before the end of the year.

@NichtRelevant What kind of construction project are you working on right now?

@Sebbster I mainly invest in rental properties. Together with a business partner, we have a new project in Leipzig (I recently posted about it). The project is largely financed, but we’ve already started renovations before the purchase price was due. So for now, we have to cover some of the material costs and contractor bills ourselves before we can get the money back from the bank.
