Oh you’re referring to a piece of paper that represents ownership in a Cayman Islands-registered company, which in turn has a contractual arrangement with the actual Chinese firm. That’s essentially what you’re buying when you invest in Chinese stocks. 🇨🇳📈

@Hendan …nothing. You just don’t own the actual business. No actual rights. Everything is owned by the Chinese state that give you the impression of a ownership.

@TechNav dude, you realise I don't give a flying fuck?

@Hendan I do. I just like to point some things out for someone who is invested with serious money and gives a fuck. 😉

@TechNav that doesn't change the point and the meaning of this transaction, which is to buy an asset to sell it in the future at a higher price. As we would literally say in Italy: you're talking about fried air

@Hendan This is precisely why people flock to crypto, meme stocks, and other crap assets, simply to sell them later at a higher price. It’s this mindset that fuels global crises and inflates economic bubbles. But you’re right, your point is valid. Best of luck playing the greater fool game.

@TechNav you are really comparing a disruptive automotive firm with industrial plans, solid market and financial figures with meme stocks? Bro, you talk like you are an economics professor at Harvard but you really need to weigh things appropriately.
Also, do you go into every post and annoy people with your pretentiousness?

@Hendan I evaluate things the way Warren Buffett did when he pulled out of China. The company is solid, and so are the cars, no doubt about that. What isn’t solid is Xi, Putin’s buddy, and the government that BYD operates under.

That said, you’re right, $500 isn’t worth more than five minutes of concern. And yes, I do try to challenge the hype around worthless, wannabe investments. So feel free to block me. Cheers 🥂

@TechNav Do you have a source for this? I would like to read more about it, but can't find anything relevant.
