SCORPION CAPITAL publishes short report on TransMedics

$TMDX (-4.22%)

Scorpion Capital announced a short position in TransMedics Group $TMDX (-4.22%) accusing the company of operating a "mafia-like" scheme involving organ trafficking, kickbacks, billing fraud and abuse outside of approved indications. Scorpion plans to file a citizen petition with the FDA and has set a target price of $0.

Scorpion Capital names TransMedics as a short idea with $0 target. Scorpion Capital said in a recent short report that "in 20 years of short-selling, TransMedics is the most extreme and grotesque healthcare fraud we have ever seen, not only because of its scale, but because it is based on exploiting the most vulnerable patients." The short-seller adds in its report, in which it gives a $0 price target for the stock, that the company "will soon file a citizen petition with the FDA requesting suspension of the PMA (premarket approval) of the TransMedics Organ Care System, in conjunction with a public letter to members of Congress investigating abuses in the U.S. organ transplant system."

Over 300 pages of claims that customers are being forced to use the OCS and bundle with NOP.

The OCS system is the most advanced organ preservation system! To offer the complete service, customers absolutely need a connection to the NOP! The alternative is an ice box for storage and therefore a poorly preserved organ.

@Lumimyrsky Especially the accusations are extreme, that one is allowed to say something like that without any evidence at all

@BamBamInvest everything to take money out of the pockets of small investors

@BamBamInvest They have to defend themselves against such serious accusations. Something has to be done in return. If there is nothing to the accusation then the shares will rise again. The only question is when?

@Semos25 yes, but you have to give them a little time 😂. I think they'll say something about it, it's not as if they've been forewarned

@Lumimyrsky The problem is, we live in a world where anyone can say and claim anything without being held accountable, even if the accusations are false and fabricated.

I'm still holding. but it wouldn't be the first time I've been lied to by a company. I really hope that this time it's unfounded accusations, I would like to believe this store... And the accusations are harsh.

@BamBamInvest Thank you for your efforts. That's really cool. My buy order was triggered earlier. Unfortunately I had to sell it again because I wanted to wait and see.

@BamBamInvest will you stay invested?

It's great if there is something to it. But in return you should also emphasize how many people are still alive because of Transmedic.

@Memo0606 I'm not doing anything . The last 4 short reports that came out were refuted. I can't think of any that were right.

These are probably all just accusations at first. To what extent you can get away with it is another question. I think if there was anything to the allegations, the public prosecutor's office would also investigate. In the end, everything will certainly come to nothing. Of course, organ trading is a tricky business and especially in the USA the weak, sometimes without health insurance, fall by the wayside. I also think that some health insurance companies won't cover the costs. And then in the end those who can afford it get the organ. Maybe it's a mafia-like method, but I don't think it will be illegal.
