@Jiyanask Well, he could just as easily look at the account and take something from everyone. Or simply encumber properties across the board. I think that's happened before. Or he could go to the broker and take our securities. It would all have the same effect, and the gold wouldn't make any difference.

@SchlaubiSchlumpf Of course the state can ...there is a register for real estate, accounts are easy, deposits are also known.....and for gold bars they have the dealers.

I just wanted to say that buying gold doesn't mean you're safe from expropriation

@Jiyanask You can never be completely sure. But that doesn't mean it has to happen. As written in the article, the retailer only stores the data for a defined period of time. After that, it is deleted. The GDPR does not state otherwise. At the moment, the state is more on the side of the citizen.
I will buy my gold as an ETC. I've lost out in that respect anyway. For my "small" amounts, however, it wouldn't be worth the effort to take care of the storage.
