First of all, a big thank you for such a wonderful and very informative contribution.

I have a question. Do I understand correctly that the strategies are about holding and discussing the ETFs in the longer term, i.e. more or less like a normal ETF?

The returns on the respective strategies are really impressive. Well, I'm being realistic. Starting with 10000$/€ and saving 1000$/€ per month won't work with my modest salary. But you can always dream 😅 and who knows what the future holds 😊.

@Laro Thanks for the flowers!
In the article I present two strategies: a passive and an active one. With the former, you hold and rebalance once a year (important!). With the second, you check the signals once a month and trade accordingly. You can save regularly in both.

Incidentally, you don't have to start with 10k and save 1k to reach decent sums with the strategies. I even believe that leveraged ETFs with a momentum strategy are the most promising way to build up a decent amount of capital if you have little. 1000€ starting capital and 100€ monthly savings installment result in 1.8Mio€ after 30 years at 20%pa. What other realistic chance do you have - apart from perhaps education?

@Laro Maybe the Epi-Power portfolio is something for you?
60% 2xS&P500, 30% 2xGold, 10%BTC - over all SMA150, 1xper month signal. Returns approx. 25%pa in the backtest with the same risk as the S&P500 ETF.

@Epi Thank you 👍. I'll take a closer look at the strategies. And create a test portfolio and see how it performs.

But I still have a question. In the text, you talk about something similar to this quote:
"Backtest: Rule: Save and hold 40% 2xS&P500, 30% 2xT-Notes, 30% 2xGold, if the respective price is above the SMA150 at the end of the month, otherwise save and hold cash."

What exactly do you mean by that? Does that mean that if the respective price is below the SMA150 you sell and put cash in the account until it is better again and if it is above the SMA150 you continue to save the price?
Or rather that if the respective price is below the SMA150 you just don't save it and just put the money into the account and when it is above the SMA150 again you put everything into the respective price?

I don't quite understand this statement yet.

@Epi I have now put these 3 in a test portfolio here at GQ. I hope I've at least got the right ones. I have the following in it $DBPG $LBUL and hold $BTC. I have now done it the way I would save it permanently. 60€/M $DBPG, 30€/M $LBUL and 10€/M $BTC.
Let's see how it performs now. In the meantime, I'll continue to look at the strategy on a monthly basis and decide.

@Epi Is there another way to contact you?
Unfortunately there is no message function here 😅. So that I know how I can ask you about these strategies. Because always writing under here is kind of stupid 😅.

@Kundenservice Would it be worth considering adding a message function? 😅

@Laro There will be no message function. Would be misused to rip off newcomers.

Your asset allocation and ETFs are okay. But you need a low-cost broker for the amounts involved. With this strategy, you can expect a portfolio turnover of up to 300% per year. You can trade for free with many brokers from €500. At least the gold portion should be there, i.e. under 1500€ total capital it is not worth it. Then rather 2xSpytips.

Regarding the SMA150: You basically have 3 pots, one for each ETF. If an ETF falls below SMA150 at the end of the month, you switch the pot to cash/ $XEON and continue to invest in all pots so that the weighting remains roughly the same.

Tip: It is best to test the strategy yourself extensively on Portfoliovisualizer.com (garbage mail account).

@Epi Is the rest of the text missing here? Or is it a display error? 😅

@Laro Nothing is missing for me. Click "Show more"? 🤷
profile image
@Epi for me it ends after "If an ETF trades below SMA150 at the turn of the month,"

Unfortunately there is no "Show more" there.

@Laro That's strange. For me it's after your sentence. I have edited the text again. Maybe restarting the app helps?
