I have never claimed that and your statement should not be the wisdom of all things, but is also one of many statements that should be taken into account (e.g. liquidity ratios). However, your statement shows me that you are mixing up relative valuation with financial ratios. So what should I say in response?
A P/B ratio can be a first indication of whether a company is undervalued or possibly a value trap. Of course, you have to analyze further.
