Why is the company interesting?

Because there is a rapid demand here and worldwide sales of luxury fashion are increasing. Millions of women and men are into expensive brands and like to show themselves with luxury items.

Furthermore, The RealReal has already received more than 350 million from backers, including venture capitalists like e.ventures, which also invested in Netflix and Sonos.

Within eight years, a small online store has thus become a multi-million commission business and - according to its own statements - also the world's largest online marketplace for used luxury fashion.

The company retains up to 50 percent commission from each sale, and pays out the rest to the commissaries. Around one billion dollars have flowed in this way since the company was founded.
