Nothing exciting now. It was already there before, but now it's even more optimized. Everyone was hoping that they would create their own version.

@topicswithhead exciting to play on your own 😂. I'll have to see if Santa brings a Switch or X-Box for Christmas, any experience with them? 😁

@BamBamInvest are not comparable and if you are considering them I would also look at the non-xbox variants from ROG. Switch is just Switch, the games are made for it. It's different with the handhelds. It's not necessarily bad, but it's definitely not a console. Otherwise, I would take a look at the Steam decks. Switch, Ally and Steam are the three best and all have advantages and disadvantages.

@topicswithhead See what it will be like. If they're really serious about it, I think I'll buy one. On the other hand, you also have to say that the X version costs almost 900€, which is more than the consoles. I'm still undecided

@Dividenden_Monteur The cool thing about it is the platform, but the device itself has so much content. There should be a better version if you're going to buy one of these. These things cost as much as consoles.

@Dividenden_Monteur for the kids (8 and 5) Mario Kart and co is probably more fun, dad needs an extra console 😂

@topicswithhead thanks for the detailed information, I think Mario and co make more sense for the kids at a young age, we'll see in 5-7 years 😂

@BamBamInvest Switch is always the best. Especially when it's supposed to be fun for the family.

@BamBamInvest The most important difference between the three consoles seems to be the range of games on offer. Steam has the largest selection of games and they are on average the cheapest. The ROG XBOX, on the other hand, has the advantage that you will rarely buy games, but has a changing catalog of games to choose from, similar to Netflix.

The Switch has many special brands that can only be found on Nintendo devices. On average, however, the games are the most expensive; if you extrapolate this over a few years, you will certainly pay the most with the Switch. For many adults, it is therefore often just a second console. Otherwise, Nintendo is always very child-friendly with its brands, so you can also have a lot of fun.

With children, it often makes sense to ask if there are any preferences among their friends. Playing together is still the most fun and sometimes it's silly if you're at home on different platforms.
