I'm asking because I've often thought about buying leveraged ETFs and holding them for longer than just a few days.

•Path dependency is by no means such a dramatic thing. For one thing, path dependency not only has a negative downward effect when prices fall for a long time, but also a positive upward effect when prices rise for a long time. Path dependency only becomes a problem if it goes sideways for 10 years, but even then you can buy at lows and weaken the whole thing very well.
