Veolia Expanded

$VIE (-1.39%) - I increased my position in Veolia today. I’ve had the stock in my savings plan for some time, but it just seemed to be moving very slowly, so I’m giving it a little nudge now. I also think the price is good.

In the medium and long term, the sectors of drinking water treatment, water networks, and wastewater disposal/treatment are gaining importance; Veolia also pays a decent dividend (even if its headquarters in France is somewhat of a drawback due to taxation)—which fits well into my long-term dividend-focused portfolio.

"A little help" is good 😅
I only have 5 stock positions in total that are in the five-digit range 😂

I agree, which is why I'm making this a core investment in my portfolio.

Great stock…I'm sure most people will realize that soon enough….

Starting in 2028, "Faster" will be introduced, and hopefully that will make the issue of withholding tax in Europe easier to handle.

@money_maven_1125 Thanks for pointing that out—I actually had never heard of that before. I just looked it up. 🙂
The only thing that bothers me is that it's a very capital-intensive business, which leads to high debt and, as a result, a low net margin.
What do you think?
Otherwise, I find the business model very exciting, and Veolia is also well-positioned in the emerging markets.

@Option-Wan-Kenobi Infrastructure is expensive—that's true. But I think the investments are justifiable given the predictable business model and the largely calculable returns and revenue. Of course, everyone has to evaluate and assess this for themselves. 🙂
