Oh God, here we go with the negative sentiment, BYD is and remains the undisputed market leader (30% EV & 50% BEV) and will definitely emerge victorious from the price war.

@Derspekulant1 At least has a good chance. The problem is: how battered is even the winner of the market share war at the end of the battle?

@Privateer So far, they have actually had the best chances in the largest car market on earth. And they are still at the top there and are actively putting pressure on the competition, as they have higher margins because they produce almost everything themselves.

I am also invested, but the 340,000 EVs that are now unsold in the yard are quite a lot! Especially as BYD is growing much more slowly than the market.
I am now down 22% and consider it a hope.... Companies in China can also get around...real estate

I share the concern about profitability, as shown in the quarterly review. However, some points need to be clarified:

>Inventory: the high inventory level was the result of a deliberate strategy to exert maximum pressure on competitors in the price war. BYD has since cut back production in order to normalize this.

>Market growth: The data shows a different picture. BYD continues to grow faster than the Chinese NEV market and has recently even increased its market share to over 33%.

>The investment thesis is certainly under pressure, but it is based on the assumption that BYD is the only player with the strength to win this war of attrition.

Come on🤦‍♂️ Then there will be a quarter with a falling profit... which was to be expected when the news has been reporting for weeks that there is a price war between the various electric car manufacturers on the Chinese market. BYD is growing strongly abroad and is displacing Tesla in many countries. It will take a few quarters of patience until their profits rise again. If you don't have the patience, it's best to get out of the stock market altogether - it's not going to work out for you and the stock market.

@Derspekulant1 She just said you shouldn't buy Chinese. That would be body trafficking and slavery. You should only buy Chinese shares. Kappa

Too many subsidies, too much KP and I'm haunted by the phrase: "Don't buy a share with 4 wheels" I have $P911 Porsche and $1810 Xiaomi but shhhh, don't tell :)

@felipeestupendo The subsidies are available for all car brands, including VW, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Xiaomi.
••

@Derspekulant1 one of the reasons why things went downhill. Subsidies are only available for things that have no demand. The company still receives money. Money brings laziness and innovation disappears. At least that's the case with German car manufacturers. But nobody wanted heat pumps that were too expensive and subsidized. The heating law collapsed before it had even begun. But where are the future humanities graduates and engineers supposed to come from? Not from our disintegrating school system.

It's just a car manufacturer. What do you have or what do you expect?
•

@Sansebastian yes, a car manufacturer that does almost everything itself from start to finish, has 30% EV market share in China, 50% BEV in China and is shaking up all premium brands in Europe.

@ProMau ok, I can buy more cheaply
••

Now you see the salad. Things are not looking good for BYD. Not from their own resources, all because of stupid subsidies. Thousands of cars are in stockpiles and the price war is endless. https://www.deraktionaer.de/artikel/indizes/china-aktien--20385924.html

@spellwan Can you trust 100% of the corporate data published there? What about the unpredictability of the state to the detriment of the private sector?
