Once again an update on my cashflow project.

For 4 days in Stuttgart, I was able to *cough* by the generous food allowance in Germany a $AFG (+0%) Share treat.

Tax-free income is invested 💪

In addition, I wanted to share with you gladly at the use:

I had 4 days of service there on an ultra-precision machine that is used to make laser mirrors out of copper, which $ASML (+0.14%) needs machines for its lithography.

Manufacturing tolerance on one mirror: 2 microns

To put this in perspective: The average human hair is 80µ thick, so you have to cut a hair 78 times to get 2µ.

Other products that can be made with this machine, maybe some of the users have in mind;

Contact lenses.

Who would like to look at such a machine times can watch the linked Youtube video.

I'm puzzling now since I'm on the platform, what you do professionally now really. 🤔 You are so versatile that I'm always unsure, but I like the hashtag at the end. 😁

@Hannes_SK I often ask myself what I'm doing 🫣 too.

profile image
@Hannes_SK The short version is: learned in toolmaking, then lateral entry in mechanical engineering at Krones, there 6 years of worldwide service and this March changed to the service of a small market leader in my area for (ultra) precision machines.

Ah, it's starting to make sense. I already knew about Krones from the podcast and from the work suit from the picture the other day. You probably work where my sister lives. At least that's where the headquarters are. So things are slowly coming full circle. 😂

@Hannes_SK your sister lives in mr? let me know if you ever visit her!🍻

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur
In DIL to be more precise. 😅 And I will be in early June but in the south around HP. Wine vacation 🥰 although I will have that yes all year round in my future home. 😂
profile image
@Hannes_SK Dil are also only 30 minutes from me 🤓 offer stands 😎

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur
The same applies, of course, if it should ever take you to the HAL/L region. 😘

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur
8 - 11.06 I will be in the area. 😅

You have to cut a hair 40 times to get to 2 micrometers if it is 80 thick. Or am I just lost.

@leveragegrinding always this splitting of hairs 🤣

profile image
@leveragegrinding öhm😅 now I'm confused myself 😂😂
profile image
@leveragegrinding 80, 40, 20, 10, 5, 2.5, 1.25. so 6 times. Or?

profile image
@Chrisser171 yeah, that totally triggered me too 😃 You could say that the 80 micron hair is 40x as big. But with cutting it doesn't really fit unless you say you divide the hair into 40 equal sized strands.
3
@Chrisser171 correct. I was also triggered 😂

Very interesting 👍🏽👍🏽 Wasn't far from me 😅

"The average human hair is 80M thick, so you have to cut a hair 78 times to get to 2p". And now you want me to drill a hole or cut a thread ?

@KleinviehmachtMist it does not say meter but µ. Even written out 👓?
profile image
@Der_Dividenden_Monteur in the Ländle on the road and do not even know the best joke about Swabian mechanical engineering ?
profile image
@KleinviehmachtMist no that was new to me🫠

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur The Dutch have developed the thinnest wire in the world, now they want to know if it really is the thinnest, so they send it to Austria. It takes 4 weeks, it comes back, a letter with it: "Wire is too thin, couldn't measure it!" Yes quite good but not sure yet. So they send it to France. 2 weeks later it comes back, again with a letter: "Wire is too thin, couldn't measure it!!!" The Dutch now want to know exactly and send the thinnest wire in the world to Germany! If it takes 1 day, there is a call from Germany, German engineer on the phone with a simple question: "Greetings from the Ländle, should we cut a thread on it or drill a hole?"

@KleinviehmachtMist ok this one is really good😅

You would like our machines 😉
1
profile image
@TomTurboInvest I like all the machines🤓 what can they do?
1
profile image
@Der_Dividenden_Monteur if I tell you that, then I would have to you unfortunately 🪦⚰️ We develop and build the for generations themselves, because of know-how protection and so... but also in the ultra precision range...
1
profile image
@TomTurboInvest click on the linked youtube video, maybe my employer will tell you something. precision division is a village, according to my boss.

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur so what "similar" in the more distant sense we also produce, but from other material and / but we build ourselves the machines for our production since time immemorial, are just also for our special material. And yes, I know the company 👍

Yes, it is fascinating what is possible nowadays. We also have the possibility to manufacture so precisely in our mechanics department. Here is a video of our product (if you are interested): https://youtu.be/LKX5VCnntX0

@six very interesting 👍 it's amazing what's possible today ist😵‍💫 Thales also has machines from us, by the way, for the "disposable" lenses as we say internally 🚀😅

My hair : 78 = 😵‍💫😵 Escapes my imagination 🥵

Ultra-precision and ASML always make me think of Zeiss 😅 are also active in this area

profile image
@Tairisy444 yes I know 😅 also use machines from us for their lenses 👍
