Buy when the cannons are thundering!

I did several things today. I can't post them all yet because they are not yet synchronized. But today I added another beneficiary of rising oil prices to my portfolio with $SND (+0.47%) .

Maybe I'll write a bit more in the next few days about the reasons why I've now added sand to my portfolio. 😂😎

Clearly because you have now discovered your penchant for dividends! :D

@Keineui Exactly, I need to hedge my portfolio. And if share prices really plummet, the dividend yield increases!

@Multibagger but only if you buy more 🤪

@Dividendenopi That has always been the thing I have never understood about this indicator of rising dividend yields. It only rises when the share price falls or the dividend rises more than the share price.

@Multibagger the dividend yield rises in proportion to how the share price falls as a number, let's say if the dividend remains the same. If you are invested, this has no influence. In this case, your dividend yield remains the same and you can hope that the dividend payments will offset your share price losses. Someone who buys at a lower price than you has a better return. Take a look at $BATS, for example. Dividend yield currently 5.60% if you buy today. I've had it for a few years now and with my much lower buyin and today's dividend I'm getting a yield of just under 9%.

@Dividendenopi Thank you, of course I realized that. My post was meant rather ironically.

@Multibagger 🤣Chris collects dividends! I just have to go one better!🤣😂
Which one is the best:
1. warrant junkie on dividend vacation
2. the opportunistic dividend tourist
3. short-term gambler with long-term yield loss🤟

Let Chris know when you've made it and dived into dividend retirement....🥳

Hmm, maybe that's a good thing?
YOU think oil prices will continue to rise?
I say NO!
Why?
War will end, fracking is worthwhile. Demand is no higher than in 2025.
Supply remains high, Venezuela conditions eased, Russia is currently being evaluated
Oil price will stagnate at 70-80 euros.
So from now minus >15%

@Smudeo At 70-80$, the expensive sand from $SND is worthwhile for fracking because the output for the frackers is much higher than with the cheap sand from the competition.

@Multibagger fracking is worthwhile from 60.
But I'm referring to your statement about "rising" oil prices.
Yes, if sand ⌛ benefits from fracking - then the value is lucrative even if oil prices fall, but in the range as above.

The purchase only makes sense if you assume that oil prices will continue to rise at least in the medium term, right?
Personally, I think Trump will do everything he can to bring the price of oil down as quickly and sustainably as possible. He has already filled his pockets, but his popularity is at an all-time low.

@GHF The purchase also makes sense in the long term if the oil price remains above 70$. I think this is plausible even if the war ends. An end to the war does not mean that the Strait of Hormuz will be free again without payments. DT may not care if the others have to pay for transportation through the Strait of Hormuz. However, he may well accept that as a condition. The USA does not get any oil from there. However, additional costs for the shipowners will be passed on and will also lead to rising prices.
