Gold, baby gold!

Gold is also constantly being bought up. Yes, I know, above the spot price - but they are old physical coins, which is why I consciously pay more!

Do you also have $GOLD in your portfolio?

I also own and hold physical old gold coins. Gold Eagle from 1889/1904, Liberty Head, Mexican Centenarios and Gold Rubles. Which ones did you buy? 😄

@Zerax Wow, that sounds very cool! Congratulations on these great treasures! I have acquired two old Byzantine solidus of Phocas from the year 602-610. So really old things... I just find it fascinating what these coins have already experienced🤓

@RenditeRudin Thank you! I would also like your Byzantine coin. 😄 I was once offered one at an auction, but unfortunately I didn't win the bid at the time, although I have to say I'm not a numismatics expert either. For me, the premium and gold value have to be in relation to each other. But I also find it more than exciting when you think about what the coins have already experienced and with gold and silver I just have to be able to hold something in my hand. 😁

@Zerax Unfortunately, you sometimes have to add 10-20% to such coins, depending on their condition. I'm with you there too, precious metals only physically, otherwise I'd rather leave them alone😃

I currently have around 40% gold in my portfolio. The high weighting has resulted from the good performance this year. I thought about rebalancing at the end of the year, but I just didn't have the heart to part with my treasures 🙊. Now I'll simply buy more ETFs/individual shares in future to restore the balance. My desired allocation would be no more than 30%.
