Starlinks Network with over 6.000 satellites surpasses traditional providers such as Intelsat

As in-flight connectivity becomes increasingly important for passengers, airlines such as Air France

$UAL (+3.22%) are increasingly relying on Starlink and offer their guests free WLAN with speeds of over 200 Mbit/s.

Despite high installation costs, Starlink is establishing itself as the future of Internet use in air travel and is taking the travel experience to a new level for millions of passengers.

According to a SpaceX director Starlink has already signed contracts for over 2.500 aircraft.

$UAL (+3.22%) expanded its order pool for Starlink flight Wi-Fi almost doubled, a company director said yesterday.

"We are very excited that we now have approximately 2.500 aircraft under contract.

What originally began as a startup is now evolving into a growing experience that we believe will generate a lot of interest from passengers and airlines worldwide," said Nick Galano, director of Starlink Aerospace Sales and Partnerships at SpaceX, during a panel discussion at World Space Business Week in Paris.

United Airlines
$UAL (+3.22%) has announced that its entire fleet will be equipped with Elon Musk's Starlink-Internet technology. Passengers will be offered the service free of charge available to passengers.

United Airlines and the FAA are investigating the incident. This is the second wheel loss of a United aircraft in 2024following a similar incident in March with a Boeing 777.
