Hello getquinners!
It’s been a turbulent start to the week, so let’s see how the rest of it goes :
𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 - 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲🇫🇷:
1. French elections
On Sunday, the French presidential elections will be drawing to a close. This year, there were 12 candidates, including Emmanuel macron and Marine Le Pen. Macron belongs to the liberal political party “La République en Marche” and Le Pen to the right-wing populist party “Rassemblement National”. In 2017 voter participation was at 77%. The two parties with the most votes enter the second round, and it is in this round that the winner is chosen as France’s head of state for five years. Re-election is only possible once. Candidates must have at least 500 signatures from elected representatives, coming from at least 30 departments, including overseas territories. With this, they can both join and represent a party, as well as run independently
The winner of this election will be France’s head of state for a period of 5 years.

Did you know that the first share, or rather the oldest known preserved share, in the world was for a 12.5% stake in Stora $STERV (-2.38%) back in 1288?
the shortage of wood worldwide is causing prices to rise. Stora Enso is a (originally paper mill) Scandinavian wood producer with huge areas of land behind it. Have your business model umgestellt....mal watch!
Within a year, the price of lumber has risen nearly 400 percent. 1000 board feet, about 2.36 cubic meters of lumber, currently trades for $1630 on the world market. At the beginning of May 2020, it was still around 330 dollars. The price has therefore increased almost fivefold.
The reasons for the enormous price increases: First, a pest has caused major damage in Canada, the world's largest timber exporter. This shortage is having an impact on the price. Secondly, the Corona pandemic has led to a construction boom worldwide.
