Performance

attachment

Deutsche Börse, Nasdaq and ICE are at a similar level, while Euronext generates significantly less turnover in comparison. The first three are in direct competition with each other.

attachment

The European exchange operators are clearly ahead in terms of growth, although the upward trend at Euronext is gradually beginning to weaken.

attachment

Looking at Deutsche Börse's turnover, it is noticeable that trading and clearing account for the majority of turnover. However, the "Investment Management Solutions" segment has seen the strongest growth and should soon take third place among the largest revenue drivers. Overall, Deutsche Börse is well diversified, without excessive dependencies on individual business areas.

attachment

Euronext segments its business areas into so many categories that they hardly fit on one chart. Nevertheless, the largest sources of revenue are cash trading and FX trading revenue. However, the strongest growth is in Fixed Income Trading.

attachment

At Nasdaq, Market Services accounts for most of the revenue, while Financial Crime Services has the strongest growth.

attachment

At ICE, the majority of turnover comes from Exchange Revenue by a wide margin. However, Mortgage Services has seen the strongest growth in recent years.

attachment

In terms of gross profit, all exchange operators are doing very well, with solid margins that reflect their strong market position and efficient cost structures, but the figure for ICE is not really true but more or less just a shift.

attachment

Euronext is the best performer in terms of net profit margin. The two next best performers are around 10 percentage points lower and are very close together. Nasdaq, on the other hand, is clearly lagging behind the other competitors.

attachment

In terms of earnings per share (EPS), Deutsche Börse offers the highest value, well ahead of its competitors.

attachment

In terms of free cash flow FCF, all exchange operators are positive, but ICE and Deutsche Börse stand out in particular and show stronger values here.
