GetQuin and my current frustration (DE/EN)

Time for a bit of mimimi and an opinion poll.

For some time now, less and less has been working for me with GetQuin. Portfolios are not updated, brokers are not available, and entire performance limitations on the part of GetQuin are (please correct me) not communicated.

1) CSV import

CSV, the simplest output of almost every broker, cannot be imported into GetQuin (anymore?). How can that be! Am I supposed to type and enter 120+ transactions by hand? Without any certainty that something will not be messed up again in the future and I will have to enter everything manually again? In my opinion, this needs to be solved as quickly as possible... And also a corresponding export as CSV.

2) Lack of up-to-dateness (Edit: Regional/subjective problem)

While Shitcoins are offered daily, Swiss titles are still missing ($RSGN as just one example is always delayed or only updated once a day...) and the consideration of local circumstances (e.g. capital repayment vs. dividend, withholding tax, other stock exchanges, etc.).

3) Coins

The incentive system for community support is well-intentioned, but seems to lead to even more garbage being published just to collect coins. Hopefully this is just a short term trend. (Writing code to automatically publish generic GPT requests would not be particularly expensive per token, nor would it be particularly laborious... But the incentive is created... )

4) Thematic posts and filters

Crypto crypto , stocks, other, crypto, other, women GIFs, crypto, stocks, 5x $NVDA (+1.51%) in a row with the same content, and crypto again.

This is roughly the sequence of posts. Can I please have a filter to hide thematic posts? Or shouldn't a simple algorithm remember which posts I spend time on?

5) Reactions

What good is it if the community punishes bad posts with 🆘 "SOS", but these reactions have no negative effects on the performance of the post or the author? Let's filter garbage or incorrect content this way.

(Edit: Apparently SOS limits the range. I didn't notice or didn't know, I missed it. Good to know! Thanks)

6) What do you want for development posts

(Edit: 🧂I wrote that very salty. But I think that if capacity for new things is offered and no implementation or proactive update follows, a certain frustration is understandable. Sorry @GQ if it seems/is too direct. I'm doing a good job otherwise, thanks. I'm not adapting the original text).

GetQuin asks the community what they want. We get in touch. And then nothing happens? I still don't understand that. So many old comments from users contain insane ideas with huge support and many responses - but then these remain undeveloped? GetQuin has (public sources, therefore not "100% sure") raised over 15 million in venture capital - plus our membership fees and (yuck) advertising partners (influencers and bloggers). Surely a little more development work should be possible? Or is a quick cashout and Bali/Dubai planned?

Is there anything that bothers you? Let's collect a bit.

I can live without merchandising, but I miss so much a full benchmark tool that I ended making my own in excel. I found myself spending more time in my excel than here.

1. why should getquin also allow export and thus make it easier for you to go to other platforms? Makes 0 business sense.
And if you think about it for 5 minutes, you will also know why a CSV import is not as simple as you think.
It works more badly than right on many other platforms, but the main thing is that it is offered.

2. have you ever looked at what real-time data costs in terms of money? In addition to salaries, rent, software licenses, marketing and the like, the 15 million from 2022 doesn't add up to much. (And before the rumor starts: In startups, you generally don't get enough from your income. You work 60 hours a week or more out of passion, because you generally want to achieve something. Presumably, every employee in startups in the regular economy could get 20-30% more for the work of a drone...)

3. as always with new functions, something like this will quickly die down. Especially when people lose interest. What was it like with benchmarking? The first 14 days lots of pictures and now hardly any. TTWROR? Same game.

4. why do you have the For You Feed if you don't use it?
There are filters. Unsubscribe from NVIDIA and you won't see any more of it.

5. how do you know how the algos for the feed work?
Even @Kundenservice has already confirmed that SOS has a negative impact on reach in order to reduce shitposting.

6. see above about the 15 million, which is a joke and won't last long.
Besides, ideas are all well and good, but I can also tell you from experience: Even if you develop functions for users, customers will complain until the place is on fire. DeepDive came out: "Mimimi Flossbach von Storch is missing."
Benchmarking came out "Mimimi, but I want charting tools".
In general, I always find the demand for any TA functions for getquin absurd. There are so many good providers for this, so why should getquin copy something when others can already do it?

Just before I go to sleep: I don't want to "bash" here. GQ is worth enough to me that I take the time here. If it wasn't for that, I would have just deleted everything and tippi. Please see it as commitment and not "malice"^^

And it's also marked as a mimimi post ;-)

So much crying in this post. Did you cut onions?

There is always a solution, if you don´t like the product: Leave

I was using so many trackers before and all of them are not complete, are having bugs or missing features. Not everything is perfect, true. But if you check getquin, they are moving forward.

At least getquin is taking care of stuff and I guess they have also their internal roadmap. Like in typical social media are not the loudest people the majority.

Guess what:
I write my wishes directly to their support and I guess most people contact them for wishes directly, so they have a good overview for stuff, the people want. And those are not the people crying in the feed.
Did you ever see someone in the facebook feed crying and requesting stuff from Mark Zuckerberg?
I was really early at facebook, when Zuckerberg was still posting personally.
And imagine: Most of the stuff has been deleted straight away with the note: Contact for wishes the support.

Are you a developer? Ever created a technical product without AI-bug-factory?
I don´t want to imagine, how much only the financial data costs.
200k€ per Year? Or even more.
Just the software in the background (CRM, Support, database, licenses etc.)? Additional 150k€?
Salaries: Just calculate with low 50k per person and if I remember correct they are 25 people: 50 * 25 = 1.250.000€ per year. And no try to find a dev for 50k salary.
Office rent? I don´t know.

Have you ever tried what else is on the market?

Either far more expensive and fewer functions or unstable, so that you're constantly worried about your data.

I'm not calling names here, but what we have in Spain would probably make you cry.
Most trackers here only have manual import. CSV or connections not at all and PDF is not really known there.

Here at least I have access to global market data and why do I need real time in portfolio tracking?
You can get real-time from your broker where you trade.
(Would you be prepared to pay €299.99 a year for Premium if you could get real-time data for your securities? Real-time data is the most expensive securities data you can buy. Even portals like Onvista or Finanzen.net Zero, which we even know in Spain, sometimes only have end-of-day or 15-minute delayed values. And here, too, getquin has the most important things in it, from what I have seen. So the most important ETFs and the most important shares).

Even our pension funds can largely be found in getquin and can be recorded.

I partly agree with you about the Shitcoins, but I had the support team (I think @Kundenservice in the app) explain to me why this is the case.

Crypto only has tickers as identification and getquin only receives one coin for each ticker. If the ticker is used multiple times, they do not receive more data, as the name of the ticker is the identification for Crypto. Many competitors have the top 100 and that's it.
Even if you manually regulate which coin you get, you can't please anyone. Then you use ‘Sloth’ instead of ‘Slothana’ and the Slothana users start complaining. If you do it the other way round, the Sloth people come.
So you have to draw the line somewhere.

Every quarter someone comes round the corner and knows better than the people who earn their living with it...

Always these smart arse people who know what the customer wants.
People always like to moan somewhere that something doesn't work.

But you know what I miss?
Simply saying ‘thank you’ to the team.
Every day when I'm online, all I see is people complaining and pulling out the smart arse, but when vacancies are posted here, it's ‘Oh, no. I'm sorry. I can't do that.’

It's super rare that people just say ‘thank you’ here, because even as a free user I have more opportunities here than with all the competitors.
Sometimes you get an answer to a support message at 11 o'clock at night at the weekend, there's an interesting newsletter every week and so much stuff is made available here for free.

Feedback is answered and even the CEO responds to feedback. Some things are even implemented quickly if they are important.
But from my point of view, many people whine about individual problems.
You can't find your shitcoin with a market cap of what feels like $1k? F* off.

I also don't understand the issue of real-time data. The most important things are here and you can track them. As an investor with a long-term goal, what do I want with real-time data?
When big events happen, I take a look and then I want to see how things develop in the long term.
In the USA and other countries, for example, there are many trackers that don't offer real-time prices at all because they are unnecessarily expensive and offer little added value.

I completely share your opinion. However, we should bear in mind that GQ is first and foremost a commercial product. The primary goal is to attract as many users as possible to the platform and keep their activity high. High-quality content, as we prefer, unfortunately only serves niches and is therefore only used sparingly. just my 50 cent
