I don't agree with everything, but on the whole, which was to be expected, he made very good points and I always wonder why people don't listen to such people from the political side.

@topicswithhead Where do you disagree with everything?

@leveragegrinding I can't remember exactly what it was because I listened to the podcast the day it came out and I listen to podcasts every day but he had 2 points that were not technical statements but his opinion and I didn't think they were far-reaching enough. Otherwise it was a great podcast.

@topicswithhead Unfortunately, people vote against the parties that rely on scientific findings. And because people vote this way, the politicians in office are often the ones who don't give a damn about science.

@ad_absurdum In your opinion, which politicians of the major parties act according to the opinion of science? :)
@leveragegrinding It's not a matter of opinion, either politicians stick to science or not. Of course, no one is perfect and does it 100%, but the Greens in particular have many good candidates who stick to scientific findings, for example on climate change or energy. The AFD and CDU don't. They deny climate change or pretend that nobody could have seen the consequences coming, lie about the effectiveness of renewable energies or falsely portray fossil fuels as better and people just celebrate it.

@ad_absurdum Politics is more about drawing rational, logical conclusions. As Germany, immediately banning everything that harms the climate does not make sense for the economy and is of no use, but some scientists are calling for it

But of course the CDU and AFD are particularly resistant to advice, rich old and right-wing.

@leveragegrinding the moment he defended the Greens should set alarm bells ringing. Apart from believing in climate change, there is nothing scientific about it, because they criticized the way you do it. It's a strange culture where you defend something wrong just because it fits in with your own image. Wanting the right thing and doing the wrong thing doesn't help much and I defend the term science if you want to deform it in this way. But the other parties are in no way better, it's more like arguing about plague and cholera

@topicswithhead I think he means that parts of the green party are the only ones who see the urgency in reacting to climate change. Keyword tipping points of the ecosystem

@leveragegrinding Yes, but only that adheres to science. The implementation is not scientific. The economists criticize the damage and the physicists/renewable energy and whatever professors criticize the implementation, which could be tackled much more efficiently and harmlessly. My video deals well with the fact that there is a huge amount of wastage
@leveragegrinding Of course, immediate bans are not a solution and I'm not a fan of them myself. It's just the politicians' job to find realistic solutions. Under Habeck, we have found a good way towards renewable energy, cheap energy, we got through a bad energy crisis without blackouts and are no longer dependent on cheap gas from an imperialist autocracy. We could also tackle other problems with such pragmatism 😁
